When you get to the bay bridge toll plaza, you will see slow traffic and a lot of it. 30minute plus drive time getting into San Francisco. San jose, northbound 101 near 280 im sorry, near the capitol expressway, there is a crash. 85 is not bad. Neither is highway 17 or 280. As we move along to the eastshore freeway, traffic is beginning to get busy in hercules and richmond. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. Its a tense morning in one town in the east bay. Police in danville are increasing patrols around schools following violent threats specifically mentioning todays date. Ktvus Tara Moriarty joins us live from Baldwin Elementary School which was the target of the latest threat. Tara, we understand you just spoke to a School District official about this latest threat. Reporter yeah, he basically confirmed that they think this is some sort of a copycat type of a thing from the original message that popped up last week. But the School District officials are taking every precaution necessary. Weve noticed a Police Officer here on campus. The teachers have not arrived yet to school, neither have the kids. But we did notice a group here earlier on the grounds. We did notice the Police Officer arrive quite early and patrol the area. The graffiti was found scrawled inside the boys bathroom on campus in the multipurpose building. Its the latest in a string of messages threatening to kill people today. Last week, less than a mile away at charlotte middle school, threatening graffiti sprayed in yellow paint was found on a rock in a creek bed. It said i will kill 12 people on 5 8 14. Additional threats have been painted or markerred on walls in different spots. One parent said hes planning to send his kid to School Despite the fact that parents and students are concerned. It will be interesting to see what our attendance is like. You know, people some people we know are choosing to keep their kids at home. We understand that. Its a personal family choice. But at the same time, we dont have any reason to believe that any of our schools are at risk today. Reporter according to a letter sent out by baldwins principal, yesterday afternoon, police did catch someone responsible for at least one of the threatening messages. Again, Police Believe a copycat could be at work here and they are looking for the person who originally spray painted that first threat. Well try to get some reaction from parents this morning. They have been invited to stay here on campus. In speaking with the School District, he said the Community Rallies together with this sort of thing and would not be surprised if a lot of parents chose to stick around today. Were also continuing to follow developing news in sunnyvale, where firefighters are searching for a couple of still missing of a couple still missing after an Early Morning fire. This is a live look at the scene where firefighters have entered the mobile home that burned within the last hour. They say the couples middle aingeed son, who is dis middleaged son, who is disabled, made it out safely. Theyve been unable to to locate the couple. Its sad. Theres people missing. Tomorrow, he will talk about Energy Efficiency at a Walmart Store in Mountain View. In the meantime, activists protesting the Keystone Pipeline, they plan to demonstrate outside the president s fundraisers in Silicon Valley today. Now, this is video of previous protests over the Keystone Pipeline when the president was in San Francisco. That pipeline would carry oil from canada to a town in nebraska on its way to the gulf coast. The Obama Administration announced last month it would indefinitely delay a decision on the pipeline because a legal challenge to the projects route through nebraska, its before that states supreme court. 7 07. San jose police are dealing with a growing crime problem that is draining their resources. Police are responding to more and more fires at homes and apartments with illegal marijuana farms inside. San jose police estimate there are at least 100 of the so called pot grow houses across the city. Those homes often go up in flames due to shoddy attempts to bypass electrical meters. These pot grow fires are keeping Police Officers away from from more pressing priorities such as tracking violent criminals. A setback for the states plan to issue drivers licenses to undocumented immigrants. The department of Homeland Security has rejected californias proposed design for the licenses. Ten states, including california, enacted laws last year, allowing undocumented immigrants to apply for a drivers license. The state is asking the department of Homeland Security to reconsider its decision. 7 08. Happening now well, its the 20th year of bike to work day and were right in the middle of the morning rush but some people are riding a bike instead. That includes ktvus alex savidge. He was making his commute from marin county into the city. I asked him how he wakes up every day and gets motivated to hop on the bike. Ride with the big, fat guy. We have breaking news right now from sunnyvale. Weve been telling you about a fire at a mobile home park. We have just gotten confirmed two bodies were found inside that burnedout mobile home. I think right now, were focusing on taking a look at the fire scene and trying to determine where the cause started and that will give us some areas to discuss some of the other information. So once again, we have confirmed right now that the bodies of a missing couple were found in a burnedout mobile home inside the cape cod Village Mobile Home Park in sunnyvale. The couples middleaged son, who is disabled, did make it out safely. They are still trying to determine the cause of the fire. Firefighters are still trying to figure out what sparked a fire in a homeless encampment near a berkeley marina. It burned bins yesterday afternoon. Crews rescued one homeless man. He suffered only minor injuries. Smoke from the fire also slowed freeway on freeway 80. A new scandal in washington, d. C. Involving on the job misconduct by a government worker. This one reportedly spending hours watching pornography. A Congressional Committee heard testimony about the incident yesterday. Investigators detailed how a sixfigure employee at the Environmental Protection agency admitted to spending two to six hours a day looking at porn sites on his work computer. Lawmakers were angry when they were told not only was the employee not fired but that he had been given performance awards. The house of representatives will hold a former irs employee in contempt. Lois learner is accused of not cooperating with the investigation into the investigation of the tea party and other conservative groups. She refused to testify and cited her fifth amendment right. If convicted, she faces a year in jail and a fine up to 100,000. Drivers in San Francisco who usually take the last exit before crossing the Golden Gate Bridge will have to pay close attention starting this sunday or else it will cost you a chunk of change. The northbound highway 101 exit is being moved about 1,000 feet southeast of where it is now. Its just temporary. Its part of the doyle drive retrofit program. This shows the new alignment. If you miss this temporariy exit, you temporary exit, you will have to cross the bridge, pay the 7 toll and come back to San Francisco. As a matter of fact, its been very typical. But typical for this time of the morning is slow. Bay bridge toll plaza, the commute here is not all that bad as you can see traffic san mateo bridge, i should say, its about an 11minute drive time across the bay over to foster city and the peninsula. I want to mention that 680 southbound from concord to walnut creek is slow and then getting into alamo. Your highway 4 drive will be mostly slow as you drive from antioch over to concord. Give yourself plenty of time, especially here getting into baypoint. 7 19. Lets go to steve. All right, sal. Thank you, sir. Pretty picture. Some blue.
