Spectators and others want to know what the weather will be like, especially ocean beach where the race ends. Good morning, rosemary. Good morning to you. I think it will be a great morning for a run and will be a little breezy along coastline for the afternoon. In case you plan on heading that way, heres a live look at the Golden Gate Bridge and to the north where a mix of sun and clouds in the forecast for your day. Lets take a look at some of the numbers expected. As we get going this morning in San Francisco, 55 degrees and for those that will be heading out to watch baytobreakers, spectatorwise, youve got just gradual warmup coming our way, partly to mostly sunny skies, 57 at 10 00 a. M. , 60 degrees and breezy around lunchtime. Thats what you can expect there. Meanwhile in your neighborhood, concord, 57 right now and in livermore, 56 hayward. Widespread 50s in the area. Mid50s to mid60s. Your lunchtime numbers, upper 50s for the coastline, a few low 70s for warmest locations, and for the afternoon today, well shave off a few degrees. Notice nobody even getting close to 80 degrees this afternoon. Mid70s antioch, fairfield, santa rosa, 60s in oakland, 62 in San Francisco, and 70 degrees expect in redwood city. Our temperatures will continue to fall. We are eventually going to go below average and in the extended forecast, the slightest possibility of a few showers. Ill pinpoint that, coming up. We are less than an hour from the 103 baytobreakers, one of the biggest in recent memory. There are worldclass runners, joggers, zany costume and the centipedes. Christian, it looks like things are already busy there. Reporter absolutely. Just spent the last couple of days you saw me last talking about the tortillas flying a notch. Depending on you warn me if im going to get hit take a look. The crowd is starting to fill up and racers are beginning to take their positions. Just about an hour from the start of the race. The show really begins at 8 00. This is one of the general running corrals here. The elite runners started to arrive in the area. In all, 40,000 runners scheduled to take part with another 100,000 spectators expected along the route. Coming along, you can see what our route will look like. The route will take runners up howard to ninth street from there to hays and the hay street hill and Golden Gate Park to the great highway and yes, i did just get hit by one of those flying tortillas. Were joined by one of the runners here, Charlie Haggerty. He tells me this is his port running of the bay to breakers. Lets talk about how its changing. How is it different than it has been in the years past . Its a lotbetter organize with the grounds set up. You have to have it to be on the course. Its a lot better organized. Reporter do all the rules take away from the fun or make it more fun . How does it balance out for you . The best is moving the start time to 8 00 a. M. That really helps the runners. We dont need a lot of rowdiness. Just let people have fun. Reporter thats one thing its known as a moving party as it moves through the city. This year, theyre crack down on alcohol, something they have done in the years past. Does that make a difference in terms of how the race progresses . I dont see that because i try to tail the elite runners. I know people are in their backyards all the debris and Everything Else that goes along with it. You can have beer at the end of the race. The hay street hill is where we find ally rasmus, live this morning with some of the notable changes that people will see during the race. Ally . Reporter thats right, mike. Were at the foot of the hay street hill at hays and scott. An hour from now, well see some of the 40,000 or so runners in bay to breakers make their way westward down towards ocean beach. Now, you cant see it from where we are standing but if we take you to the other side of the hill, an alcohol checkpoint. Alcohol is not allowed during the race so runners coming through the checkpoint will have to open their bag and have bags and containers screened. If they have alcohol, they have to dump it out on the shot. This is next to alamo square park and has enclosed the park. It has gone up for the first time this year in the race. We talked to a San FranciscoPolice Sergeant about the changes. In the past, a lot of spectators and run isers have have problem in the park as far as broken glass, grass, and thing have been destroyed so park and rec wants to preserve that so people in the community can enjoy it yearround. Reporter its known for its costume, sometimes the lack of costumes of the runners, and we will do our best to avoid showing nudity. People who live on the race route have complained about the mess and drunken revelry so the fence, security changes and alcohol checkpoints are some improvements they have tried to put in place and will have seven red cross checkpoints to help anyone who may need their blisters tended to or anyone who may be a little dehydrated, just in case people get alcohol through and get a little disoriented because of it. If you could turn the camera over here a thousand more portapotties are on the race route. Organizers have put these up along the 7. 5mile race route and theres about a thousand more portapotties this year than last year, a 25 increase. People head into the city may want to take public transit. Bart has special transportation. Trains began rolling at 6 00 a. M. And longer than normal. Muni is offering an express service before and after the race, 2, which is a change. People can board at the west portal and castro stations. The postrace stop is 47th and folsom. For those who may be coming in from marin county, heres the Golden Gate Bridge. It looks like things are moving smoothly now. If youre coming from the east bay or south or anything like that, heres a look at the san mateo bridge, where you can see traffic is moving just fine and the sun is out on this sunday morning. New this morning, chp is investigating a crash that seriously injured a motorcyclist just after 2 00 a. M. Southbound 101 near old oakland road. The motorcycle hit a car that was stopped in the middle of the lane because of a previous crash. Investigators said a third car hit the median and several lanes were shut down for about one hour. Police in san jose are asking for your help to find a 52yearold with developmentallydisabled man. Heres a photo of joseph twitchell. He walked away from hollys home care facility. Earlier in his life, he sustained a severe head injuries and suffers seizures and requires daily medication. He has the mental capacity of a 10yearold. For some reason, i thought its firecrackers, fireworks, or something, and when i came to the front, i realized somebody had been shooting. The intended target was a 47 yearold man who was shot in the leg and groin but is expected to survive. No arrests have been made in the case. Fremont police will have extra patrols at an Elementary School after a case of stranger danger. A 10yearold boy was walking home from hirsch Elementary School on friday afternoon when a man on in a car on carroll avenue asked boy if he wanted a ride. The boy got scared and ran home. The man is latino or indian, 30 years old, black hair, and the car was an older blue fourdoor sedan. Crews are making headway as several large fires are burning at the Camp Pendleton marine base. An estimated 40 square miles has burned. A fire in san marcos charred 2500 acres and is 80 contained. Camp pendleton said three fires burned 23,000 acres, 18 of that base, but there is good news.
