Right now chains are not required on highway 50 or interstate 80. But if you are headed up there you are always advised to bring along those chains. Well, what are the holidays without some holiday music . We have been hearing about it all morning long. The San Francisco boys chore inches of snow are internationally acclaimed. They have performed all around the world. They are between the ages of 10 and 13. And photojournalist tony hod rick and deena lynch gave us a listen. [singing]. I love it. It is like my life. Its my main priority. When i heard about this choir, i just knew that it was right for me. I joined the chorus because i dont really show any interest in sports. This was good for the opportunity. I really like it. I want to, like, sing because it opens this joy in my heart that i have that i just want to like let go of. I just really love the sound. It makes me feel like i am floating in the clouds. Whats great about the chorus is the boys are all here because they want to be here. Let me tell you, the boys, i love working with the boys. Their sound is glorious. How many sopranos are doing the top part . Thats too many now. I get to see the development that happens in them, and they go from being little boys to really young gentlemen. I sing everywhere. I sing at school. I sing at hole. I sing while during my homework. I sing in the shower. Well, i sing like at home and in the car random notes. It, like, it really drives my parents crazy. [singing] and i had a little book that runs down. I really like it. The boys soprano sound is unlike any other sound. There is a sweet spot in the boys voice that just lasts for just a short amount of time. Its purity. Its innocence. Its the beauty. Songs can have different moods to them. Some songs can make me really happy. Some songs can make me really sad. And i actually really like the feeling of sad songs because they can really open up your heart in a certain way because they make you feel for the song. Its just a really beautiful sensation. This puts this their minds that there is another dimension to life. Its not just all tv and homework and eating and sleeping. They can express their spirit through music. Their energy can be used through music. When everyone is singing the right notes and we are in harmony, it transports me into a different place. This is a tradition that goes back hundreds of years. The music of the ages, its like nothing else. The boys chorus shapes them. Just the mere fact of standing in front of an audience that they can have the confidence to perform in the best way possible. It brings camaraderie. It brings friendship. It means working with other people. They develop leadership qualities. And the things that they learn throughout the chorus helps them in their future life. Their voices blossom and blossom and it is this glorious hinge that is something that i think they will keep with them. I love the chorus. Nothing is the same as singing. I am not sure when i grow up i will still want to do that. I am sure i will sing all my life. Yeah, it makes me happy. They are making a lot of other people happy. Yes, they are. Its so much more than music. This story part of our 30 minute special dedicated to the sights and sounds of the season. Holiday in focus airs today at noon and also at 5 30 and 10 30 tonight on ktvu. No boyband in your future . Definitely not. Not that you are a man now. That ship has sailed, rosemary. Thanks so much. He sounded like angels. They did.
