But for many, theres coast fog, bay fog, from santa rosa to vallejo, all the way to san jose. Even on the coast we have fog in there. Theres pretty good rain in Southern California, lighting up by kingman, arizona, las vegas, phoenix. Today looks like rain in arizona, tomorrow decreases and sunday it shut calm down. It will be sunny, cool to warm, the fog will retreat by the coast and inland fog will start to head back to the valley. Dont usually see this in january to get the radiation and the invection fog. Thats what we have. There is a lot more today than yesterday. 30s, 40s, 50 is on the temps. 38 napa and santa rosa. Some of that fog is thick 50 los gatos. 40s for morgan hill and gilroy. Really foggy towards morgan hill. We have a lot of cloud cover in the four corners of Southern California. Not here. We have sunshine after the fog. Burns and lifts or heads back to the coast or out to the sacramento valley. Cool, mild, warm. 50s, 60s to near spent degrees. All right. Sal, ive been listening. Havent heard anything major yet . Were dealing with the fog. Right now im looking at the faa Ground Delay Program. Even though its really foggy in san jose, according to the faa map, San Francisco airport has delays expected a little later today of about an hour. Its interesting because Phoenix Airport also has delays because of weather and la guardia. Those are the three airports that are right now across the country that are experiencing delays. Guess what. San francisco is one of them. Who knew . All right. Lets take a look at the commute here in san jose. Northbound 280,s get up to the as you get up to the 880 interchange, look at the top. There is a crash at the top. You can see there is a bunch of crowding there at the top of the screen, then it moves well. Thats a bus accident on northbound 280 getting up to highway 17. So please give yourself extra time as you drive through there. The traffic is going to be slow. Its not quite backed up from downtown san jose. But it is slow and once you pass that, you can see it looks better. Northbound 280, about halfmile before the 17 interchange. Lets take a look at the bay bridge toll plaza, this looks okay, westbound traffic is moving along nicely with no major problems. If you are driving in walnut creek, 680 from concord to walnut creek looks all right. Highway 4 is still slow in antioch and pittsburg and baypoint. 7 03. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. Oakland police are asking parents to be on alert this morning after a boy was sexually assaulted as he walked home from school. Ktvus alex savidge is here now to explain what happened and who police are looking for. Good morning, alex. Police are worried there may be someone out there targeting children on the streets. The attack were talking about here happened in this east oakland neighborhood here. Well go further in and show you. It happened on this particular block of 98th avenue. In fact, the boy was walking along this block when the attack happened earlier this week. This is a 10yearold boy and he says a man lured him off the street and then sexually assaulted him. This was at about 3 00 in the afternoon this past tuesday. Now, investigators have alerted schools in that area, they are also reviewing Surveillance Video from some. Nearby homes and businesses to see if that may help to identify the attacker here. And in the meantime, Oakland Police say they are concerned that other children in that area could be at risk. They are encouraging parents to talk with their kids about stranger danger. Talk about what children can do. Strangers, you dont want to engage in conversation with them. You dont want to go anywhere with them. Stranger is danger. And police are putting out this description of the man they are looking for this morning. Hes described as hispanic, in his 40s, about 57. He has a slim build. Short salt and pepper hair e also has what police are describing a fairly distinctive bushy, salt and pepper beard. At the time of the attack, he was wearing a Brown Leather jacket and black pants. If you have any information, a good idea to put in a call to Oakland Police. Theres now a 7500 reward from crimestoppers on the table here in this case for any information. Thank you, alex. Health officials in marin county have confirmed their first two cases of the measles. Now there are 12 cases overall in the bay area. San mateo and Santa Clara County each have two cases. Alameda county has the highest number of confirmed cases in the bay area with six. The centers for Disease Control and prevent says the Measles Outbreak that started in disneyland probably came from overseas. The virus has now infected 94 people in eight states. 67 can be clearly linked to disneyland. The cdc says either a foreign tourist or an american traveling overseas was infected and then spread the disease to others while visiting disneyland. 7 06. New this morning, rap music mogul suge knight turned himself into Los Angeles Police this morning. He was arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with a deadly hit and run. Heres some video of suge knight and nis his lawyer walking and his lawyer walking into the sheriffs station. Police say he was visiting a movie set in compton yesterday afternoon when he argued two men. Witnesses say he got into his truck, followed the men in the restaurant, ran over the men in the parking lot and then fled the scene. One of the men died from his injuries. Knights lawyer has confirmed knight was driving when the man was his. It was very shocking. So far people said it looked like an intention am act. So were handling its a homicide. Knights lawyer said he was being assaulted by one of them. Hes being held on 2 million bail. Coming up at 7 45, ktvus pam cook will have more details on the deadly incident and the arrest of suge knight. Meantime, back here at home, a gunman is still on the loose after a deadly shooting last night at oakland. It happened outside of a liquor store on harrison street near pearl street in the adams point neighborhood. The oakland tribune is reporting the unidentified shooting victim was found outside the liquor store. We have few other details but the search for that shooter continues. 7 07. B. A. R. T. A lot of people are unhappy with the overcrowding and hot trains among other things. Need more b. A. R. T. More than then cars. Theres tons of people. I dont usually get a seat when im usually getting off at 5 00. The Customer Satisfaction results are not a big surprise for us. We knew we would see Something Like this. Concord farms has locations in union city and half moon bay. California is enforcing a plan to make sure marijuana growers do not harm the environment. The state has launched a series of inspections including fields being cultivated in hum bolt county. State regulators are concerned that in a drought people who are growing medical marijuana near waterways are taking the water for irrigation. There are no plans to pull the plans. The idea is to limit the Environmental Impact of the pot growing. There had is a new report about state parks and we should there is a new report about state parks and we should expect shorter hours and serious budget cuts. A new report says more has to be done to fix the system. The report calls for a fundamental transformation of the park system which covers almost 1. 6 million acres. Sal, im glad you mentioned the fog for the airports because san jose airport had about a dozen cancellations and several dozen delays yesterday because of the fog. One of the things we didnt see we dont see on the faa site is cancellations. Very possible your flight at san jose could be affected because of dense fog there. But the fog is for sure definitely going to affect, according to the faa website, San Francisco airport a little later on. They will have a Ground Delay Program that keeps planes delayed. A lot of flights delayed for an hour and one minute. I wonder how they come up with that, an hour and a minute. But thats what they say. Lets take a look at 880 northbound and southbound. It looks okay. We had an earlier problem in san leandro that cleared up. And now there are no major problems driving through the stretch of 880. Bay bridge toll plaza, we do have a delay here. Its backed up to the macarthur maze. About 20 minutes. Not a huge deal getting into San Francisco. I want to mention that contra costa county, we have some slowing from concord to walnut creek. But highway 24 looks good on the way to oakland. We also did have a couple of things on highway 4 westbound looks like we have a crash westbound near bailey but traffic had been heavy in this area. Lets go to steve in the weather center. Two and a halfmile visibility and going down at the airport. If you are taking a flight, check with the airline. Correct. If you can see it, another beautiful sunrise. A few high clouds. A lot of fog. A lot of coastal fog. End of january, yep. Fog, though, santa rosa, napa has reports of vallejo and even san jose, a lot of fog. Mountain view in there, much of the peninsula. Fog, then sun, weekend looks warmer. Breezy late tonight and tomorrow any rain possibility end of next week. I say possibility because weve seen this before. Two of the forecast models are leaning in that direction. That will give us a north northeast breeze starting tonight into saturday which means a lot of sun for the weekend. If theres any fog it will burn off sooner. It looks like a nice pattern. Next seven days rain, to the north. A little bit in extreme Northern California. But nothing here maybe next friday, saturday. The try pattern continues. Health Officials Say someone showed up at a sacramento hospital yesterday who meets the government guidelines for being tested for ebola including a recent trip to west africa. The patient originally walked into the e. R. Mercy General Hospital a few miles away but was taken to uc dave vits which is one of four hospitals designated in california to treat possible ebola patients. We know the nurses have been drills sense then on a dayto day basis and we know they are so much better prepared. According to one witness, the patients arrival had several people leave.
