San francisco to the low to mid 50s. Some of the fog reports, santa rosa, halfmile. This fog bank has been floating around not only up here but the bay area back towards San Francisco bay, the Santa Clara Valley as well. Warmer today, thats the headline. I want to show you that one of the trouble spots is on 80 southbound coming out from the or to the macarthur maze from the carquinez bridge. We had an earlier accident at powell street. Your drive time is up. Its almost 40 minute from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze. So please give yourself extra time. It could be a lot worse. This is not your normal commute as you get to the bay bridge, you will see the traffic is backed up all the way out to the macarthur maze and the metering lights are on. I do want to mention the traffic is slow in the south bay, especially on 101. We had an earlier accident on northbound 101 as you come up past the capitol expressway. But we have a lot of slow traffic in many areas, 85 and 280. Give yourself extra time. Its 7 03. Back to the desk. We have a new development, a sawyer weve been following all morning in the south bay. We have just learned that two carjacking suspects are now in custody. Investigators from several cities have been working on this case. Janine de la vega says this all started when two armed men approached a man in a Cadillac Escalade in a san jose neighborhood just after midnight. Good morning, janine. Reporter good morning, tori. Yes. The situation keeps changing. About three minutes ago, i just got confirmation from a lieutenant that they did get the two carjacking suspects. Were here on bernardo avenue in sunnyvale and in the last few minutes, two fire engines just came in here and now we believe that paramedics, firefighters are tending po possibly the suspects. Its unknown if they are injured, if they were shot. We know the two s. W. A. T. Teams from san jose are out here. They were the leads on this search. There was a woman in this neighborhood that had called 911 reporting that she saw a man hopping fences here in this neighborhood and he was holding something in his hands. That was a very credible source to police. They focused their operations in this neighborhood because they considered the men armed an dangerous and dangerous. There was a carjacking in east san jose. Police say those two men were responsible for that. That happened in east san jose. Police ended up chasing the stolen car from highway 280 in san jose to highway 85 in sunnyvale. The pursuit stopped in sunnyvale on remington drive near robin way. The. The two men in the stolen car ran away. They bailed out. K9s did a search. They were looking into the Stevens Creek area. Thought the men hid but they got the tip from the woman on the other side of 85 in fremont. Police are very busy right now. As soon as they give us more information exactly on how they caught the carjacking suspects, well bring that to you. But it appears they are possibly tending to them right now in case they are injured. Tori . All right. Well, thats good news for the neighborhood. A lot of people concerned about that. Thank you for update. Theres high tension in ferguson, missouri. This time after two officers were shot during a protest. Police are holding a News Conference. Katie utehs joins us from the studio with more. The shootings happened just after midnight as the demonstration was coming to an end. The News Conference, as you said, began moments ago. You are looking at a live feed from the News Conference which is being held at the st. Louis county Police Headquarters in clayton, missouri. Thats about 15 minutes from ferguson. A st. Louis county officer was one of the men injured in the shooting. We are monitoring the News Conference and will have any new developments later in this News Conference. For now, i would like to show you the video that captured the moments that shots rang out. [ sound of gunfire ] recorded by a woman who was Live Streaming the rally, the video shows a relatively calm scene interrupted by gunfire and screaming. Protesters had been celebrating the announcement that the citys police chief plans to step down next week. This follows the justice departments report that says the Department Practices racial bias. Around midnight as protesters rallied outside of the police station, gunfire hit the two officers. I guess the crowd was on one side on the sidewalk. The Police Officer in the riot gear was on the other side. Kept coming back and forth, going back over. Did it two or three times. I believe the third or fourth time is when the Police Officers in the riot gear was back on their side. Thats when you head the shots rang out and two Police Officers were hit, from what they tell us. Reporter one of those officers was hit in the face, the other in the shoulder. At this point, both are reported as conscious and being treated at a local hospital. Neither men worthed for ferguson pd worked for muss pd worked for ferguson, pd. The shooting happened after Thomas Jackson announced he will step down next thursday. Hes the sigsth person to resign sixth person or to leave the department. New this morning, back here at home, were hearing about yet another ambulance delay involving the San FranciscoFire Department. According to documents obtained by ktvu, it took almost 13 minutes to get an am plans to ambulance to yesterdays miss district fire where five people were hurt. Thats three minutes longer than the tenminute standard for lifethreatening calls. As you can see in the screen shots from the documents, a call went out for an an ambulance before 4 31 a. M. At 4 37 a. M. , an ambulance becomes available and starts to respond to the scene but it doesnt get to the scene for almost another six minutes, just after 4 43 a. M. The department cited limited funding, staff and they claim they have made significant improvements by adding 19 new ambulances and more personnel since last summer. Investigators are trying to figure out how that fire in the Mission District at 24th and treat started. Firefighters say mohammed shiebi.
