You can see some of that rain beginning to dip south. Still around Mendocino County. Theres been heavy rain on the north coast. It looks like thats where the heaviest will stay. You pay attention. I can tell. We do have some slow traffic in the east bay. Well start this time in another part of the east bay from the carquinez bridge to the macarthur maze. That traffic is going to be busy from about pinole all the way to berkeley and most of that slow traffic is going to be, again, in richmond and el cerrito, about 27 minutes which is not the worst weve seen but its already slow as you head to the bay bridge toll plaza. When you get to the toll plaza, you will see a traffic backup of about 30 minutes well, 30 minutes if you include the time it takes to get into San Francisco, we have been looking at walnut creek. Southbound 680 traffic is backed up from 242 to walnut creek. And the traffic is going to be slow mostly on 680 after the after the 242 interchange. Since steve mentioned 580, 680, we have slow traffic in livermore. It gets better in dublin. 680 slows heading south towards sunol and fremont. Now, its 7 03. Back to the desk. Thank you, sal. The fbi, we have the Vallejo Police here as well as the office of Emergency Services from Solano County. We havent seen a lot of activity here in this parking lot bea hind me. But we did see behind me. But we did see a team head out. We dont know where they went. Weve not been given a lot of information. But there are a lot of resources being thrown at it. We do know that later this morning, authorities will conduct a search of the home where the victim was taken a few blocks from here. We want to show you a picture of 30yearold Denise Huskins who works as a physical therapist at kaiser in vallejo. Authorities believe she was taken on the 500 block of kirkland avenue just after 2 00. Officers were notified about the kidnapping from a 30year old man who sources say is either a roommate off a boyfriend. Police want anyone who saw huskinss white camera to call them. It was taken from the home on kirkland and found at a different location. If you have any information about her whereabouts, you can call the crime stopper tip line at 07644stop. We are also following breaking news out of france where an extensive search is underway after a plane crashed in morning in the french alps. The president of france says its unlikely anyone survived. The plane was en route to dusseldorf when it crashed. A News Conference being held in germany to update the media. Translator the last routine check of the plane took place yesterday, the 23rd of march, in dusseldorf by lufthansa technicians. The last regular major checkup of the plane is, according to the manuals of the airbus, this last major check took place in 2013. The captain of the plane youve been listening live to a News Conference about this plane crash. We want to show you a new picture just into the newsroom showing the area where the plane went down. This picture was taken from a rescue helicopter so you can see its a very remote area. Supposed to be very hard to get to. The airline says there were 150 people on board, including two babies. We also have new video of families of passengers gathering at the airport. Hard to imagine what they must be going through. The plane sent a distress signal saying emergency, emergency. People on the ground heard a loud noise moments before the crash. Now, frances l. A. Major commercial plane crash happened back in 2000 when an air france concord struck runway debris on paris. Any idea what happened . Reporter it remains unclear, dave, exactly what happened. But a fire investigator is here this morning. Behind me is the insurance auto auction lot. The fire has been out for some time. But it remains unclear, again, how this fire started. Want to go to video just moments after the fire started. Firefighters from the contra costa procedure protection responded. They say 25 overall were cars were damaged. Fighting this fire, firefighters say they had several challenges putting it out. These vehicles have a lot of plastics, rubber, fuel systems. The fires can burn intensely. Its kind of difficult to access this lot back here. This is pretty far off the road. So it took quite a while to put the fire out and then to do the overhaul to make sure it was fully out. Reporter that fire investigator who you just heard from is on scene figuring out what started this fire. He tells ktvu it remains unclear exactly how it started but they are looking at several factors looking at whether somebody perhaps broke into the lot, tried to start a car. Fire Officials Say there is a number of homeless encampments nearby. And they are also looking at other factors whether a simple battery spark may have started also. There is a couple of tow crews out there. Probably gonna be moving cars out there. 25 cars damaged from a fire this morning. Fire remains under investigation as well. Guys back to you. The man allegedly tried to take the girl around 9 30 yesterday morning on sagebrush drive near deer valley hool. The suspect is 21yearold allen. A 16yearold girl told teachers she was walking to school when the man drove up and tried to get her into his car. She walked away. A short time later, he got out and tried to grab her and she ran. The school alerted other students. Now, after hearing the announcement another girl came forward with a similar experience last month. Police say they eventually found allen in his car, not far from the school and he was arrested. 7 10. The Richmond City council will consider placing a moratorium on rent increases. About 40 Community Members who support the idea plan to be at tonights meeting. They are calling on the city council to pass a rent control ordinance. This comes after people received notice of a 20 rent increase. A troubled home in the south bay has been turned around thanks to a community program. Wayne combs has lived in his south san jose home for 40 years. But four and a half years ago a house in his neighborhood was rented out under section 8 housing. Thats when the problems started with people throwing garbage in his pool, destroying his mailbox and officers have been called to the home 50 times in the last three years. Cal osha is investigating a tragic accident in mars where a gravel truck tipped over and crushed in martinez where a gravel truck tipped over and crushed a car. The vehicle was parked in a driveway. She had a 4yearold daughter and worked as a hairstylist. She was in her car because the truck driver just asked her to move it. The frustration of a mother and a stepmother with a bully at a school in fresno lands them both in jail. After protesting about bullying and getting no results from the School District, they decided to go after the bullies on their own. But it turns out the two moms were arrested for allegedly assaulting two young girls who bullied their son. Their son is also facing charges for helping to start the fight. After that, i drew a line from santa rosa to calistoga north. I think thats the line for rain. After that, cloud cover continues to roll in. There is a new plan to add solar panels at Sacramento International airport but its causing some major concerns. Its a plan that would save the airport about 15 million in energy costs over 20 years. But some people are concerned the panels will actually attract birds and that could pose danger to planes. Airport Officials Say people shouldnt worry about the solar panels attracting birds. Solar panels will look like water to them. Theres all sorts of water around here. Anything that goes under has to go through analysis.
