He looked outside his window. He saw this fire across the way and he ran over to help out. Listen to him. It was maybe about an hour and 45 minutes ago, my dog was just barking and barking and i was like hey, be quiet. I look out there, and my neighbor and her kids are yelling and screaming. I just got out there with no shirt and no shoes on, took them out. And already trying to dial 911. I just took her phone, and dialed 911 to start new yorking on all the apartment doors. And there is a fire. Barefoot. It was crazy. And in the end, thankfully, there was nobody who was hurt. That family made it out safety. Everyone else made it out safely. That has given us more water to deal with the fire. We are seeing that over here. It seems like that happens later on in the fire fight; right . You have had a knockdown at that point . We did have a knockdown by the time we were reported. We dont know exactly what it happened. But its particularly when you are at the top of a steep hill like this that, is very problem mat pick. Workers at Childrens Hospital in oakland are mourning the death of a nurse hit and killed by a suspected drunk driver outside the hospital. Sixtysixyearold Patricia Alvarez died sunday night from injuries she suffered in the crash last wednesday. Flags are at half staff in her memory. Police say she was working the overnight shift and had returned to letter car to retrieve a stethoscope when the suspected drunk driver in the suv hit her in the crosswalk. He has she has dep voted her whole life to the children and community we serve, and we miss her a lot. Investigators say the driver appeared to have missed the turn for a parking garage, threw his car into reverse and hit alvarez at a high rate of speed.
