The problem is that the homeless is the homeless congregate close to where many businesses and residents are located. Ritter says its willing to move with the citys help but it wont be easy. We cant move because we cant find a suitable place. Its a real catch22. We dont know yet. We dont know. So the great brain truss sitting over here will come up with something. Or if they come up with something lame, im going to veto and say we are going to play sals favorite. There they are. There are those people back there. Thats where steve sits now. Steve used to sit behind me. He sits way over there now. Good morning, everybody. The traffic is not bad. Obviously since we have so much time to talk about this. Its still nice and light on a friday and today is good friday and that means that some people may have the day off. I think, pam, you said that the markets will be closed and that may make it just a little bit easier for the commute. Its a religious holiday for some. Take a look at the commute, traffic is moving along pretty well on 880 north and southbound as you drive through. We are also looking at the rest of the commute here in the east bay heading to the south bay and it does look good. We are hoping that today is going to be an easy traffic day. So far we are starting off doing pretty well. Its 4 48. Lets bring steve in here with the forecast. Thank you, sir. We have a little bit of coast fog, more so than yesterday. It was only patchy and didnt last long but some of that has regrouped a little bit. So that will keep temperatures probably near seasonal averages near the waters edge. Warmer inland. Still not a very strong onshore breeze and a component of a slight offshore for some and its variable, to be honest with you. Overall, temperatures srting off pretty nice. The change, though, will be on sunday. Sunday afternoon, evening, more like evening, i think we are okay sunday morning, but then start to see an increase in the low. A low dropping in from the pacific northwest. Its not going over water. Its going over land so its moisture starved, as we say so fog, sun, nice friday, saturday, and then i think you will notice a change on sunday. And that will take us into monday. This does not look like much of a rain producer for us, maybe southern california, though, which is painted for above on the six to 10 day outlook. Morning fog, sunny, nice, a. M. Fog sunny. They could use the rain in southern california, they are wolly woefully behind. San francisco, 51 degrees, 58 at noon and then a high today of 63, same as yesterday. And thats right about where they should be this time of year. A few high clouds continue to just cruise down from the north. No big deal. The lows have been coming up each day. We were pretty cold monday morning into tuesday but now its more 40s or 50s. Woodside 41 this morning. A lot more mid40s or 50s, even upper 40s, low 50s san carlos and san mateo. 27 in truckee, 47 ukiah, 58 in san diego and 54 down in los angeles. You can see some of the higher clouds to the north but thats really about the only flying ointment today except some of that coastal fog so we will mention that. Its not sold out or anything, but sunny and nice, maybe about the same, just slightly cooler by the coast but a degree or two bump up in those inland temps so that means 60s and 70s on the temps here, a kind of a mini summer pattern, if you will. Overall, though, about the same on saturday, then the breeze picks up sunday into monday for a big cooldown. There will be snow showers up in the sierra, pam. Very nice. Thank you, steve. A lot of people are on spring break. Happy for them. 4 50 the time. Unfortunately the Berkeley High School Boys Basketball team could not finish their historic season with a state championship. The Yellow Jackets lost to crested caramel light of encino yesterday. Rallying from a double digits deficit. Crusty came back, won the game 6853, the first time berkeley had played in a boys state championship game since 1924. A lot of alumni here at channel two so they were watching that. Very exciting, though. Nothing to be ashamed of. An amazing season for Berkeley High school. 4 51 is the time. A warning for parents. Up next what you need to know if you have gerber baby food pouches sitting in your pantry this morning. A busy stretch of highway near downtown san jose is now a lasting tribute to a Fallen Police officer. Part of highway 87 was dedicated to the memory of officer michael johnson. Yesterday marked one year since officer johnson was shot and killed as he responded to a call about a suicidal man. He grew up in san jose and been with the department for 14 years. His widow saw the freeway sign for first time yesterday and said she was very moved. He loved the community so much and to see all these people come
