Dave shelton is in richmond this morning and says its breezy here. No fog. We have a system swinging through and there are high and midlevel clouds, they will swing out of here and then we will go mostly sunny but then i think we will start to see clouds building up here as a very cold and stable system is moving into northern california. 40s and 50s, san rafael at 49, temperature difference still a couple of degrees but i think we have cooled off about as much as we are going to with these lows. Windy up in truckee right now, also South Lake Tahoe but their winds coming way down. You can see action beginning to develop now near quincy, maybe around Feather River falls, also around grass valley. That is a sign of things to come. Look at that system. This is a classic system as drops in, doesnt have a lot of moisture to work with it but it will spin in another system and it looks like late friday into saturday and thats our best chance for any rain. Today windy for most, light rain to the north, sunny for a bit and then turning mostly cloudy, a possibility, unsettled pattern cool and windy will continue. Rainfall will not be that great, forecast models are having a very difficult time with this but i would not be surprised if saturday into saturday night thats when we will get some precipitation out of this, lake tahoe will have snow. Snow levels start off pretty high but come down to around 6000 feet, probably maybe a little lower up towards shasta, but unseasonably cool for this time of year so dont get surprised up in the mountains but at the passes they could get snow.
