Happening today the wife of the orlando nightclub gunman arrested yesterday at her familys home in the east bay is due in Oakland Federal Court this morning. Alley you are in the newsroom now. Tell us the charges. Reporter the 30yearold is scheduled to appear in court at 9 30 this morning. She faces charges of obstruction of justice and aiding abetting by providing Material Support to a terrorist organization. As we reported yesterday authorities arrested her at her familys home. She was there with her son, mother and younger sister. The fbi had interviewed her seven moss ago after her husband killed 49 people and injured dozens at the nightclub in orlando. He had pledged himself to isis. She admits to being with him when he bought ammunition at a Walmart Store and when he scouted the nightclub but she insists she didnt know at the time what he was planning. Neighbors say that her family is quiet and kept to themselves but neighbors wonder if she could have done anything to prevent the mass shooting. She may have had some thoughts about this and if she had just said something it would have saved lives. You know she may not know anything. You know i hope thats the case. Reporter the attorney issued a statement calling misguided and wrong to prosecute her and it dishonors the victims to punish an innocent woman. She applied to change her 3 yearolds son. Now another protest is part of the 120 hours of direct action is taking place outside San Franciscos city hall. Demonstrators pitched tents promised to stay there until the inauguration on friday. They are protesting several issues including police shootings. We checked out there just a little while ago. The protesters have left. This point we arent sure what happened or if they plan to come back. The 120 hours of direct action kicked off yesterday with a march in downtown oakland honoring the legacy of dr. King. Not my president. The Anti Police Terror project led the 3rd yearly march. It was an effort to reclaim the legacy of dr. King while denouncing the president elect. We have to make a statement that is more in like with the image and the thoughts and values of dr. King as opposed to what we are seeing out of washington right now. The march included drummers and band dance performances. About a thousand people attended including some Young Children with their parents. Tonight the Oakland City Council will vote on a measure in support of children known as docka students this he are student who registered for the deferred action for Childhood Arrival Program set up by the president. They came to this country as children without immigration papers. Oakland city councilwoman has a resolution calling on the president to take action to protect them even after he leaves office. They have asked for parking permits for more than a thousand tour buses for the march.
