People who were evacuated from two additional areas damaged by floodwaters cannot go back home. About 3800 people are still blocked from going home. Even though the heavy rainfall has left the bay area theres an extra challenge for effective control and Santa Clara County. Talking season is underway. Standing water is a breeding ground for mosquitoes. Officials are concerned about the spread of west nile virus and other diseases from mosquitoes. In april the Santa Clara County will begin fogging as specific neighborhoods by ground. Seven horses stranded by floodwaters are safe this morning. Rescue crews took the horses to the santa police and kind and quine. The neighborhood saw some of the worst flooding. The owners did tend to them during the storms. They rode in canoes to give those animals food and clean water. We are being told there are 20 other horses that still need to be rescued. Will the Alameda County sheriffs deputy who was hit by a bus wednesday morning in the parking lot at the santa rita jail has died. Alameda county Deputy Mike Foley was hit by an inmate transport bus. Wednesday morning at the santa rita jail. A friend of his was driving that bus. Before he became a sheriff deputy fully worked for 30 years at the Concord Police department. Last night his former colleagues remembered him as a mentor and a friend. He was absolutely that guy that when you came in as a rookie, that you looked up to, he would go to calls and help you out. He was the example. Chp is conducting an investigation. The driver was going about 15 Miles Per Hour and did not see fully who was dressed in black clothingit was dark outside. The sun had not come up. Mr. Foley was 60 years old. He came from a lawenforcement family. His relatives say his organs will be donated. A man linked to a pursuit where a chp officer in sacramento was killed is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon. 26yearold alberto kero of sacramento was booked on charges of stealing a motorcycle and evading an officer. He is suspected of being the motorcyclist that officer lucas shall was facing chasing on wednesday. A car crossed in front of him and his motorcycle collided with that car. The officer was killed. Yesterday the chp academy and West Sacramento honored officer the officer with the bellringing ceremony. He was a seven year veteran at chp. At 31 years old he had followed in his fathers footsteps. He leaves behind a wife and two young children. The Alameda CountySheriffs Office is trying to confirm whether a body found along Alameda Creek last night is that of 18year old jaden jenkins. Ms. Jenkins has been missing since her car crashed into the water off of niles canyon road on january 21. A man who was out walking his dog along the trail near the creek came across that body last night just after 5 30 pm. Authorities say while they have not yet been able to confirm who the body is, they have notified ms. Jenkins family about what they found. We did see last night the barragan family cleaning their belongings in the dark because the power is still out. The rising water surged into their house and left mud everywhere. In all of their rooms. The family is certain they are going to have to find another place to live. Its pretty sad what happens to all of us. Now all of us are going to have to look for a new home. There are mandatory Evacuation Order still in place for almost 4000 people authorities have been given the okay for many people to return to their homes in the william street park area, and at three mobile Home Communities along old oakland road. All of those areas and those homes were inundated by the floodwaters earlier on this week. The city is now focused on tallying up the damage from this disaster. That will help in requesting state and federal relief money which will be so important to all the families impacted by this disaster. City leaders are acknowledging that People Living near coyote creek should have been notified earlier about the imminent danger of flooding on tuesday morning. Water district officials said they did tell the city that water levels are rising. Any evacuees did not realize that anything was wrong or that they needed to get out until firefighters showed up at their doors in boats on tuesday morning.
