Hills. That is true. Thank you, daisy, for that. It might not be as cold as it has been, but still michelle m. Smith says good morning, steve, happy saint paddy day. 46 in clearlake. San jose looking for a high of 76. Low of 49. Both are above average. Way above on the high. 67 47 is average. The record 32 again way back in 1894. The reported low in the state. Might be a little bit of patchy fog tonight and tomorrow. 40s and 50s on the temps. 43 gilroy. 42 boulder creek. 30s yesterday. I dont think thats going to happen. Here is our system coming in for clouds on saturday. Looks like rain on sunday. Today and tomorrow its all about high pressure. Sunshine and warmer temps. Cool. Not as cold. Mid 70s for some. Highs as you just saw well above average. 7 01. Busy with the bart east bay, right. Thats right, steve. More people are in the car, it seems, in pittsburg because of the problem between pittsburg and North Concord. As a matter of fact, the traffic is going to be affected by this outage we are just about to talk about. Look at highway 4. It is backed up well back into almost anitoch. This is one of those communities thats going to be really busy on highway 4. 680 is also a little bit slow from concord to walnut creek. We are also looking at the bay bridge toll plaza. That is backed up all the way out to the macarthur maze. Thats a 20, maybe a 25minute delay. Its pretty thick there. San mateo bridge also have a lot of slow traffic and its very crowded on this bridge getting over to the peninsula. So we have just a lot of slow traffic. Hasnt been a great traffic day today so far. 7 02. Lets go back to bart where some trains, as we said, this morning are not running because of an electrical problem that knocked out service on a section of the tracks in the east bay. Christien kafton is live where a bus bridge is set up. Reporter yeah, sal, youre looking at the bus bridge in action. These are passengers boarding the bus bridge heading out to pittsburg. They are getting off that bus coming here into the North Concord bart station. We saw a flood of people. Clearly, the commute is moving towards the San Franciscooakland area. We had a chance to speak with alicia trost this morning. She is a bart spokesman. She says the temporary fix seems to be working for now to get passengers where they need to go. Riders will see short are trains unfortunately. We are crowded. We are doing field inspections and trying to get to the bottom of this problem. This morning we will have buses most likely. We are runagates train to see if we can see something. We are relying on the buses right now. Reporter bart says they under that this is an inconvenience and they are working hard to get to the bottom of whats knocking out the cars electrical systems. We had a chance to ride the bus bridge ourselves back and forth between North Concord and pittsburg bay point. Its taking about 15 minutes, possibly longer now as the commute starts to build. This is expected to have a Ripple Effect. Passengers can expect packed trains through the morning. I was trying come to pittsburg last night. It was too late. I got on the bart at 9 00 thinking i would get here, my usual time at 11. No. I had to get up at 4 00 in the morning to get back like home. Reporter one of those bus bridges just let off panthers. You can see the flood of people walking. Nobody is paying as they go through the pay gates here. One of the things that bart is doing is telling passengers to pass through without having to pay. They are telling people that they dont have to pay for parking here at the North Concord station. But remember what this means for bart riders through the system is that even if your route doesnt take you on this particular route, you are likely going to see more packed cars, possibly some delays through the system. We have heard the latest number from bart. 50 cars knocked out by this electrical problem. They are bringing in experts from around the country to figure out whats going on. This is a real mystery. Bart trying to get to the bottom of it. Christian, this next seven hours things will be hitting the height of the morning commute. We will check back in with you to see how its going there. Reporter thats right. 7 05. Mir ago a has approved 500,000 to fix problems by a sinkhole in the city that opened up on sunday. It knocked out service to 2600 customers. The line is capped.
