You will see that traffic on the san mateo bridge is going to be busy heading out to the highrise. We look at hayward. An earlier accident is gone and traffic is recovering. South bay deputies, they are investigating two separate crime scenes right now. They are at a home in Redwood Estates where a person was shot and killed. Deputies are also looking into a highspeed chase that ended in a crash in campbell where another person died. Ktvus janine de la vega, youre in Redwood Estates. So tell us how these may be connected in some way. Reporter yeah, it looks like there is possibly a connection, but we still dont know exactly what it is. But sheriffs deputies have been here in this neighborhood for 20 hours now. Just a little while ago we did see a crime scene truck drive here into the neighborhood. You can see madrone drive is still closed. Neighbors here are still left just completely in shock over what happened. Now, heres what we know so far. Sources tell ktvu that this started as a Home Invasion, but somehow things took a turn. Yesterday morning at around 11 shots were fired inside the home on madrone, and deputies found a man dead. We dont know if that man was a victim or a suspect. A silver toyota prius was seen speeding away. Authorities ended up chasing it to campbell where it crashed into a wall on highway 17 and hamilton. The driver tried to run away, but he was caught and arrested. The male passenger was taken to the hospital where he died. Now, deputies do say that he was a suspect. Neighbors who live near the home where the shooting occurred say its a tightknit community and its usually quiet. I hope that what i have heard isnt true, of course. But i am afraid maybe it is true that two people have died in this in short order. One of them at the scene and another on the road trying to escape the scene. Its just awful. Reporter neighbors told us a mother and her children live at the home. They do have a lot of questions. We dont know, as i mentioned, the connection between both men who died, but the Sheriffs Office plans on releasing more details later today. We may also learn the identities of the deceased. They want to find whoever shot and killed a pregnant woman yesterday in the east bay. It happened yesterday morning on highway 4 in pittsburg Near Railroad avenue. Investigators say it may have been road rage. Now, the chp says 25yearold Shanique Marie and a passenger were driving westbound on the freeway. The Police Report says someone driving a newer model White Mercedes with paper license tags got into some kind of altercation with her and a short time later someone in that mercedes fired a shot into Shanique Maries car, hitting her and her passenger. Both were rushed to the hospital. The passenger will survive, but Shanique Marie died. Family members are devastated. This is a young lady gunned down like she was nothing. Somebody sees something, please come forward. Shanique marie was a mother of four children. A fifth was on the way, and today is her sons birthday. Family members say its not the familys first tragedy. The father of one of maries children was shot and killed last may. Time is 7 08.
