Base officials also just revealed an active Shooter Drill was set to take place today, but this happened before that drill could take place. We do have a fox sister station in washington, d. C. It is reporting the base Officials Say they did not need any help from local police. Some might read that as perhaps they have the situation under control or somehow contained themselves. Yeah. You may remember joint base andrews, thats where the president flies into and out of on air force one. The president is not scheduled to fly out of the base today. Again, these are live pictures. This morning Santa Rosa Police are investigating what they describe as a random attack inside a Movie Theater. The victim was stabbed a number of times and suffered life threatening injuries. And they have a man in custody. Police do. They are questioning him and trying to figure out if this man is responsible for two random stabbings in santa rosa that happened over the last few days. The latest attack inside the roxy theater in santa rosa. It happened about 4 00 in the afternoon yesterday. It happened during a showing of the movie the shallows. A man with a knife came up behind another movie goer and stabbed that stabbed that man several times in the throat and chest. Investigators say the 23year old attacker then tossed the knife in a trash can and calmly walked out of the theater. Officers arrested the man though a short time later. The victim was rushed to the hospital with serious and life threatening injuries. Now, this morning Santa Rosa Police are trying to figure out if the attacker from the Movie Theater yesterday might be the same person who stabbed a homeless man to death earlier this week. It was an unprovoked attack, and in that case the victim was apparently stabbed 50 times as he slept in a doorway in downtown santa rosa. So far police have not identified the man they have in custody, but again they are apparently questioning him potentially in connection with both of these random attacks. One here at the theater and one in downtown santa rosa. We are waiting for more information on this investigation from Santa Rosa Police and we will let you know when we hear back from them. Thank you. To the east bay. Out of oakland Highway Patrol officers are searching for a vehicle involved in an Early Morning police chase. We have new video we will share from the scene of that crash near macarthur avenue and 100th avenue in east oakland. The chp cruiser hit a fire hydrant and three parked cars before coming to rest on a sidewalk next to the building. It began 2 30 this morning on 580. It ended on city streets in oakland. The passenger was spraying a fire extinguisher. New developments this morning about the istanbul terror attack. A turkish official said the death toll climbed from 42 to 43. A Palestinian Woman died from her injuries. Meantime, Turkish Police ride raided the homes of suspected isis militants in istanbul and in a coastal city along the aegean sea. 13 people were taken into custody. The turkish government has identified the nationalities of the three suicide bombers. They were from russia, uzbekistan, and kyrgyzstan. They hit the airport using weaponsgrade explosives. Turkeys Prime Minister said one attacker blew himself up outside and two others took advantage of all the panic to run inside with guns and even more bombs. One american was inside the terminal when all of that chaos occurred. What went through my head was the images you have from paris and orlando that they come around and shoot you now. And so its a scare you have that they are coming for you. Funerals are now being held for some of the victims. One of the first funerals is for a 25yearold airport worker who had only been on the job a month and a half. Of the 239 people injured in the attack, 41 are still in intensive care. 7 07. A large wildfire near san diego has now killed two people. The bodies were found yesterday afternoon in a rural area burned by that fire. It was heartwrenching. I honestly havent processed it yet. I am going to go home and cry my eyes out. I cried a little bit with the girls. The image is burned in my retinas. The wildfire began a week and a half ago. It has burned through 7600 acres. The fire is 97 contained. Volunteers have been looking for the couple. They disappeared ten days ago. Now to the developing story out of the sierra foothills where a wildfire is growing. The fire has grown to 1264 acres, containment remains at 12 . Right now thousands of homes and other buildings are threatened. Evacuation orders remain in place between forrest hill and offshore breeze in placer and el dorado counties. Its tough for ground crews to get to the fire line, so they have been relying heavily on air attacks, but there was an interception in the firefight. Calfire had to ground their plane because drones were spotted in the area. A new proposal to make city college of San Francisco free for students for the first time in 33 years. Last night the board of supervisors voted to send the proposal to the full board. The board could vote on this as early as next month. If they approve the plan, a property tax measure would go before voters in november to help pay for it. A teenage girl from Alameda County was severely injured in a house fire. The fire started at a home on griffin avenue in a neighborhood near hayward 8 30 yesterday morning. Mike win was on his way to work when he noticed something going. He saw a 17yearold boy safely outside the home lifting an 8 yearold boy out of the window, but they said a 16yearold girl was still inside. Thats when he decided to go in. I got about five, ten feet and the smoke was just too overwhelming. I could still hear her. She didnt seem that far away. I still feel bad i couldnt actually get to her. But the smoke was overwhelming. I couldnt see anything. I couldnt breathe. So she had to back out of the window. The teenage girl was pulled out by firefighters. She was airlifted to Santa Clara County valley medical center. We are waiting for an update on her condition. 7 10. A man arrested for allegedly planning to attack a Police Station in ohio. Tell us what shelter officials are saying about what happened. Reporter yeah, well, the shelters director says she is simply heartbroken over what happened. They have launched an investigation. She reportedly said that once they conclude those findings into what happened it will be made public. Now, one of the precursors to the video you are about to see, it will show you dogs in the shelter. They were not the dogs involved into what happened here. According to the Bay Area News Group, it was a communications mishap that led to a fouryear old pit bull named barbie to be mistakenly euthanized two weeks ago. The agency has launched an investigation into what happened. They are looking into the case of another dog named tommy that was put down about the same time. Contra costa Animal Services director beth ward told the Bay Area News Group this is especially heartbreaking because the shelter was working with a rescue organization to help save barbie. In a statement, it reads in part here, while we can not undo this terrible mistake, we will learn from it and improve our efforts to save as many lives as possible. Some animal activists, including no kill contra costa, have expressed concern over this case. The Group Advocates for nokill policy for the Animal Services shelter. The shelter said this year about 80 of animals that were brought to the county shelter made it out alive, and thats up about 45 in 2011. Still though many questions into what happened. The kern high School District settled for 10. 5 million with mitch carter who sued over injuries that he suffered six years ago at a Bakersfield High School pep rally. Now, he said he dressed as a chicken to mock the opposing teams mascot, but it was his own Football Team who attacked him after they thought he was shoving a fellow student. This is not a frivolous lawsuit. This is an important case and there is a young man that needs to be fairly compensated because he needs care for the rest of his life. The jury listened to my story and im thankful that the court system put in place a system that allowed me to get the help that i needed. The lawsuit claims carter suffered a brain injury that resulted in slurred speech, disorientation and an injured pituitary gland. Sal, when i was driving in the bart trains were already full.
