The unsolved killing of a College Professor is prompting San Jose Police to release new Surveillance Video, and the police hope the public can help identify a person investigators want to question. Take a look at this Surveillance Video which shows a man that is walking down a street. Hes wearing some dark clothing there. Detectives think he knows something about the murder of 37yearold david moglen. They hope someone recognizes him and calls the department. In july, police say moglen was shot to death near sherman and Willow Street while chasing a man who just robbed minimum. Police canvassed the neighborhood, and they havent been able to identify suspects and they are hoping to bring closure to his wife and two small children. Moglen worked as an economics professor at Foothill College in los altos and faculty and staff described him as intelligent and well liked. If the da finds evidence leading to criminal charges, the names of the officers involved could be released. On wednesday, as you recall, oakland mayor, libby schaaf, announced plans to fire four officers, and send one to counseling in training. And yesterday, the Livermore Police department announced that an officer resigned because of his involvement with the woman at the center of the scandal n. Livermore police say they became aware of the officers involvement back in june. He was placed on administrative leave, but then he quit a week ago based on an internal review. A sheriffs deputy in Merced County is in Critical Condition but is expected to recover after being shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call. It happened about 6 00 last night in the community of dell high south of turlock along highway 99. A man came outside the home with a rifle and opened fire on two deputies who responded to the call. One was shot. The other deputy fired back, shooting and killing gunman. Its very difficult. You know, these guys are coming out here every day doing these things, and again, putting their lives on the line by a very positive thoughts the deputy is going to pull through this all right, and were taking care of it as we can. The gunman was identified as 38yearold jose torrez. The deputy who was shot was not identified but the sheriff says he has more than fifteen years of Law Enforcement experience. We now have a timetable on when all San FranciscoPolice Officers will be wearing body cameras. They should all them have them by the end of the year. The department is rolling the cameras out station biestings. Engelside and station by station. Engelside and bay view were the first to get them. Japan town and the marina already cameras in the next week or two followed by the mission station near the end of the month. New this morning, the Spanish Government is launching an investigation into a deadly Train Derailment just hours ago. The train was traveling to portugal when it jumped the tracks in northwest spain. At least four people were killed, about 50 others injured. Now, the train apparently hit part of a bridge and signaling tower. There were 63 passengers, two crew members on board. No word yet on how fast the train was going, but the damage indicates it was traveling at a high rate of speed. Novato, and san rafael yell have both sent applications to the federal Railroad Administration to set up quiet zones near some smart train crossings. An Emergency Fund for the bay bridge is running low on cash. Now, the San Francisco chronicle says when the fund was created in 2005, it had about 900 million but a variety of problems like corroded rods and other unexpected repairs we have reported have used up a lot of that money. The chronicle says the fund has about 68 Million Dollars left and that may lead to toll payers paying more for extra repair work.
