While they were clearing the crash they had to shut down the freeway along southbound 101 and take traffic off. That happened for about hatch an hour. They gradually opened up more and more lanes until they opened all the lanes about an hour ago. But, the damage was done, southbound 101 was very slow. The person who did hit the man stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. This is a look at 80 westbound as you drive from the bridge to the maze. It is about a 29 minute delay. It is not a bad commute. When you get to the toll plaza you will see some slowing and we will show you, it is a slightly back lit picture but it is packed up for a 20 to 25 minute delay, which is very ordinary. We will also look at a commute in oakland on 880 north and southbound, this has not filled in yet, northbound 880 traffic is going the be busy as you drive up to downtown oakland but it is not stop and go. And this morning in the south bay, the northbound 280 commute is not bad. Look at 8 a, though, i am beginning the see a pretty slow commute here on 85, right after highway 17, as you get up to highway 17, now there was a crash here, near deanza. More than a year after a sinkhole opened up in moraga the sinkhole shut down the intersection of green boulevard and moraga road it is a major shopping area there. Whats happening now is there is the contractor out here, that is a construction worker out here but before we actually start seeing any digging equipment, working to make any repairs here at the sinkhole, the workers here say they have got to do a lot of prep work beforehand. They have to close off the street entirely in both directions. They have to decree kuwait a pedestrian walk through through this gas station near, on the corner, also Wheelchair Accessible access as well. So theres a lot of stuff that those go on before they take off the tarp and start doing the repair work on this sinkhole you see here repairing the sinkhole in the middle going to tick a lot of work exam a lot of money. Theres a view of the sinkhole that opened up in march of last year, after some winter storm, 130foot long culvert underneath was damaged during those storms that causeed it road above it to collapse. The cost to repair the culvert and the sinkhole it creates about 1. 3 million hawaii put some financial pressure on the town which had to dip into the reserves to pay for the repairs here and also some storm related repairs in another part of town. That prompted city lodes are to declare a fiscal emergency for the town earlier this month.
