Seat. You dont like the middle seat, do you. I dont like it but i will give the aisle seat to my wife. Good for you, sal. A company trying to change the way that you think about the middle seat. It is pushed back a few inches so everyone can have arm space. It also is bigger than the aisle and window seat. And has a bigger tv monitor. The middle seat now cups with benefits. Still not sold. Bigger tv for the people next to you watching. It makes it better but not as good as the other seats. I still dont want that seat. I know we need to get to the news. Window or aisle. It depends on the length of the flight. A long one, i prefer the aisle. Window. Lean against the window. Want to show you the live shot of sfo. We think alike. Long flight, i have to have the aisle. Got to have the aisle. Yes. Changes tomorrow, not today, guys. A lot of high clouds. Sun breaks if there. Temperatures will be mild. Mostly cloudy mild to warm. Wind and rain tomorrow evening. And then off and on rain plus cooler temps taking us into saturday. Sunday looks okay. Much, much cooler than right now. Just want to make sure that everybody is up to date. Rainfall could exceed 4 inches for some locations. This is if everything comes together. It is april. This would be a significant storm for april. If it was january or february, its a slam dunk. Once you get to april, you dont see a system like this very often. Theres going to be a lot of snow. Ive seen two pro generals of 46 to 48 inches of snow up in the sierra between tomorrow and saturday. So if that all comes together, youre talking feet. Rain and wind tomorrow. Not today. Tomorrow. Your timeline will be pretty quiet tomorrow. Then after about the noon hour, things pick up. After 6 00 now 10 00 to early friday morning is the main time. But tomorrow morning should be all right. Might be a little drizzle and light rain because of the system come in. The first one will weaken considerably. There is a little bit overnight. Coastal drizzle. After that comes through, here comes the main one. Here is 5 00. Then it sweeps through. Thats 8 00. It will be extremely windy for many tomorrow. Certainly a high wind watch out and a high wind warning i would imagine. Then it arrives late thursday night and into friday. Snow levels drop behind that. Another piece of energy coming in friday night. Right there. Friday afternoon, friday night. That one as well will be windy. That doesnt mean thats where the rain will be. Thats what the forecast model says. By saturday, things should be a lot better but some rain in the mix. We have about three days. The only thing missing from the system is really a bundle of cold air. Theres a lot of moisture, tremendous amount for this time of year. Also strong jetstream helping to send that along. Sending it along is a lot of high clouds. Thats it for today. It will be be a mild and muggy day to the south. It will be busy tomorrow. Today is the day to get out and do things. Take that Patio Furniture in. If you thought the rain was over, claudine wong, its not. I didnt say it was over. I was just enjoying the break. We get a break today and then not tomorrow. Thanks, steve. You bet. Alameda county officials have identified a third victim from last weeks deadly fire in west oakland. The Coroners Office says 41 yearold wilson is one of the four people who died in the transitional housing complex on san pablo avenue. The name of the fourth victim has not been released because relatives have not been notified yesterday. Anderson and robertson were the other two People Killed in the fire. This morning a temporary shelter in oakland set up for survivors of the deadly Apartment Fire will close. Alex savidge is live now at the west Oakland Youth Center with more on what is next for the people staying at the shelter. Alex. Reporter sal, good morning to you. Many of the people forced out by the fire are preparing right now, packing up their belongings and getting ready to leave the temporary shelter. Many have been here since the fire last monday. But the city of oakland and red cross, they are promising to get folks help down the road, finding permanent Housing Solutions. Let me show you the shelter here. Were just across the street. It has been set up at the west Oakland Youth Center since the devastating fire. A total of 11 people stayed here last night. This was the last night that the shelter will be operating. Initial leer 70 people checked in here after being forced out of their apartments last monday by this massive fire at an Apartment Building on san pablo avenue just a few blocks away. The fire killed four people and destroyed that building, which offered Transitional Housing Services for recovering drug addicts and those who were homeless. I talked with one survivor of the fire and he said that he and his wife are trying to get help as they try to find a new place to leave. We got an apartment yesterday. Took it out of my relief fund. I took it out of there. Me and my girl, were moving forward. I like to work. Im going to keep pushing. Im not going to let me set this back. What is next for the people where housing is so expensive . That has become more and more a challenge. Our case workers from red cross and city try to work closely to find out what is the right solution for each family. Theyre different for every singlefamily. Reporter and with the sky rocketing rent prices in the east bay, that is a concern that many residents have, trying to find a play that is equally as affordable as the one lost in the fire. The shelter was only meant to be a temporary solution. Now the youth center really needs the space back for the kids who are on spring break here in this community. City Officials Say they will be working on longterm Housing Solutions for all of the people left homeless by this fire. One of the ways they are doing that is by setting up an Assistance Center at the plaza right outside of city hall in downtown oakland. Between 10 00 a. M. And 7 00 p. M. , people can go there to that Assistance Center and get connected with various services. And that will be set up every day between now and friday. So anyone who is impacted by that fire can go there for help. Alex savidge live for us this morning. Thank you we are starting to hear from some of the First Responders who were called to the scene of that deadly fire last month. Ktvus Paul Chambers talked with some of them about what they remember from that early morning. Im extremely proud of them. Very, very young crew. Reporter these four men were just some of the oakland firefighters who risked their lives, saving people from the burning building on san pablo avenue the march of morning 27th. We were asleep all upstairs. It was about 5 00 in the morning or so. I was asleep in my bunk. The tone came in. We hear those bells and we know its time to work. Reporter many from station 1 were familiar with the building that housed nearly 100 people. As crews approached. I could smell it from blocks away. You could see the embers in the air. As soon as we stepped off the truck, people were yelling that there were people trapped. We want to see if there are any rescues. Always want to save lives. Reporter the scene was chaotic as people inside the building that serves as transitional housing was going up in flames. They had tied sheets together like in the cartoons and they were trying to make a rope to literally climb down on a sheet. Reporter the crew says this is what they train for as they quickly leaped into action. We pulled the fire escape down, tied it off and up we went to the second and third floor. I reached out and pulled the woman over the railing. Next was a gentleman that also reached out. And i pulled him. Reporter station 1 rescued 7 people from the burning building. All lives were not spared as four people died in the fire. When youre a firefighter, you want to save everybody. Its upsetting when you cant do that. Its a tragedy. We do everything that we can in our power to save as many people as we can. Reporter all together oakland firefighters saved more than 20 people that day. Knowing that some people didnt make it out alive will stay with the firefighters. You had lost life. Nothing special about us. We are nothing more than an usher. An usher to life. We want to take a closer look how the city of San Francisco is doing since it does not have an nfl stadium over the last few years. Up next, San Francisco supervisor mark farrell joining us live in studio. Well, back in 2006, the San Francisco 49ers proposed constructing a new stadium at Candlestick Point the site of the existing home candlestick park. It would have included retail space and housing improvements to the neighborhood. But negotiations with the city fell through and then the team focused their attention further south. In 2011 a construction loan was secured and the following april work on levis stadium began. It officially opened in 2014 and home to super bowl 50. Now that the raiders have been given the green light it move out of oakland, could be a positive or negative for the city. To talk about how San Francisco is faring without an envelope stadium, mark farrell is joining us with the stadium. Is San Francisco better . I think we miss a team in San Francisco without a doubt. Someone born and raised in San Francisco, i remember going to candlestick but the civic pride when you have a city and a team together. Of course winning super bowls always helps. Sure. I remember those times when we won the super bowl and everybody got out of their cars and honked their horns. 81. Civic pride. We miss them. The 49ers will always be the San Francisco 49ers. There wont be another team coming over to the west side of the bay. We miss them in townment obviously with the team having the on field issues it has, its not as much of an issue in San Francisco. Once they get better, and they will, confident in the Management Team there. So you have the civic pride. But what about financially . The arrangement is that oakland will save a lot of money and put it into housing. Financially is the city better off without an nfl team. Every deal is different. What oakland had and the Alameda Coliseum Authority versus what happened in San Francisco, different structures. We lost a few Million Dollars a year because of parking revenue because park and rec land that the 49ers leased from us. What you see in the new stadiums you think about the giants and the warriors now. Everything is privately financed. Thats a whole different paradigm. It changes the neighborhoods. Had a new stadium been built at the old site, it would have done a lot for the neighborhood. Did you miss out on that. That is an argument. In San Francisco as we do in the bay area, we have a massive housing crisis. You have an entire neighborhood being built now instead of a stadium. We need more housing. So in that respect it is positive and will have benefits Going Forward in the future. It will still be a 49ers. Its a regional team. We need to stop thinking about borders and boundaries and think about the bay area as a whole and what is best for that part of San Francisco. Because like in new york, the jets and the giants play in new jersey. Nobody has a problem with it out there. Do you think that people will get used to the fact that theyre the niners even though theyre in santa clara. I think they will. We talked about that. The new york jets and giants play in new jersey. That is strange. But we were used to having a team in city. It is different though when youre talking about the raiders. Theyre going to vegas. Theyre not theyre not going down the road. Completely different. I think raider nation will feel much different effect than the 49 fan base. Our red and gold faithful did feel when the niners moved south. Where candlestick was, tell me a little more about what it will look like in five years, what it will look like in a year. Can everyone get in . Will there be Affordable Housing there. Absolutely. Lennar is building a new development. Homes are going on the market right now. It is being developed in phases. It is an incredible new neighborhood. One thing that the city of San Francisco needs is more housing. So that will solve a big need for the city of San Francisco. It doesnt erase the fact that sports teams bring civic pride to our cities. That is the hardest part to prove, it is hard to measure. If you do dollars and cents and bottom line, which oakland looked at that and does it make financial sense. How do you measure civic pride with the cost. Thats a good question. What oakland was looking at, do we spend taxpayer dollars to fund a new stadium. Thats a tough question. And i remember when the giants had their privately financed stayed up, other cities were worried that would become the trend. That has become the trend. The city doesnt have to be on the hook. Cities dont pay for that sort of stuff anymore, do they. Nevada is giving the raiders taxpayer dollars. Would you ever do that in San Francisco. Absolutely not. Do you think it is a bad deal. Not looking at all of the details. I dont want to put myself in the place of nevada. Thank goodness i live in San Francisco. To spend 750 million of taxpayer dollars when we have so many other issues from housing to homelessness and other issues, i dont think that would be a prudent choice of funds. We have the luxury of not having that problem. We have investment of private dollars and it is paying off. The giants just paid off their loan. The warriors coming to town will be a big boom. We have forward thinking ownership groups willing to invest those type of dollars in the city. Are you going to run for mayor down the road. We will take a look. Thats not a no. Thats not a no. Mark farrell, supervisor in San Francisco. Thank you. Coming up on the nine, a 4 monthold baby girl missing from the city of Mountain View. The search underway for her and her father.
