Now, these backup seismic devices are al very flexible to allow for the passage of traffic over them. And the big bolts holding them down are working just fine. Now, if you can stitch these up, they would be as strong or stronger than the original primary earthquake supports. Now, this is one of the stiffners. Its called a shim and what they will simply do is put these in the places that are open. One, on either side. In fact, everywhere where theres an open space that allows for flexibility, they will install these shims temporarily to stitch the entire bearing up. And then in december when this elaborate saddle system is fully installed on the bridge, and then concreted over, the bridge will be done. These will be loosened up and the bridge should last for 150 years. The new bridge is infinitely safer than the old bridge. The question is when are we going to open it . This all coming up at 6 00.
