It is moving thats more than could be set for much of the next day. Interstate80 had stop and go traffic as people were headed home from the holiday. And now more on the fire. A firefighter clearing the fire lane was injured tonight. When a calfire bulldozer overturned. A medical helicopter had to come in and rescue that firefighter who suffered minor injuries. Calfire just updated the fire. Its only 30 contained. Calfire lifted evacuations just two hours ago for people who live around highway 128. The campgrounds in that area are still closed. Calfire is working to try to prevent that fire though from spreading and tonight those crews had some help from bay area firefighters. Ktvus Cristina Rendon was at the fire scene and she explains the challenge for firefighters hoping to enjoy the weekend. It has caused two other fire crews to join the fight. Mandatory evacuations are main in effect. Not only are we in steep terrain, but combined with the triple digit figure, low humidity makes it a very challenging environment for firefighters to work aggressively all day and all night. Reporter the amount of fire activity theyve seen to date has increased by 70 compared to last year making it all that important to stop these fires quickly. We just saw some smoke when we came up the mountain. So we didnt really realize we were going to be closed. Turn back, if youre headed to lake barriesta its not good. Reporter this roadblock will likely remain there until 7 00 tomorrow morning when calfire reassessing whether or not to let people back into their homes. Reporting in yolo county, Cristina Rendon, ktvu channel 2 news. Fire crews made progress on another big fire near lake bariesta. Fire crews report that the bus fire is now 48 contained. Thats up from 80 just this afternoon. The fire began last tuesday and had burned 4,700 acres. And road closures have been lifted. The cause of that fire is under investigation. And crews battling both of those fires not only dealing with the flames but also battling the heat. Lets check in with our meteorologist mark tamayo for more on the conditions there. Temperatures have been trending up a bit over the last two or three days especially for this part of the region. Temperatures up 100 degrees once again. This was the first fire about five days ago out toward hope valley. This other one developing yesterday out toward the monticello fire. Youve been hearing a lot about the very hot temperatures. Dry conditions and also the terrain as a huge challenge for the fire crews steep terrain with elevations around 500 to 1,000 to 2,500 feet. That will continue to be a constant fire for all the fire crews in the region. Today we topped out at 97 degrees. Another hot forecast coming up for tomorrow near the fire zone. Their conditions are unknown at this hour. This morning, in broad daylight this gas station was a crime scene after two motorcycle groups opened fire. Its considered the largest motorcycle event in the state. Bringing upwards of 50,000 bikers together to celebrate the fourth of july holiday. But on its last day, gunfire erupted. Its terrible. I mean, you know gives bikers a bad name and stuff too. Its not a good thing to happen. Here it is surprising but not shocking. Reporter around 10 30, police found three shooting victims and another man assaulted at a chevron gas station a mile and a half from downtown. The shooting stemmed from a fight at the hollister rally the night before between two motorcycle clubs. This morning they crossed each other as they did last night. There were some words last night from what were gathering. This morning when they crossed each other at the gas station, bullets erupted. Reporter Police Arrested one club member last night for a concealed weapons violation. Its just bad to see stuff like this. They bring it back after being down for five years. Robles says the fisherman made a horrible decision to keep the shark on the fishing line for so long.
