A car drove off the road and down a cliff at grizzly peak boulevard fish ranch road in oakland. Two people were trapped in a vehicle that had fallen several hundred feet down panoramic hill. The 911 call came in after 11 30 a. M. The crews had no idea how long the people had been down there. They went do you think do you know an embankment approximately 500 feet. Unknown speed and although they were somewhat protected we have to determine that they are traumatic injuries. Reporter the First Responders reached the victims but had no way to get them off the steep hill. The patients were stable but they needed assistance in terms of setting up a system. Reporter with the help of east bay Regional Park rangers they set up teams at the top of the hill using ropes rescue workers and medical equipment. We had one person actually hauled up with the systems we put together and one patient who was hauled out by chp. Reporter one victim had to be airlifted off the hillside and flown across grizzly peak road to an awaiting ambulance. Both victims were transported to highland hospital. Its unknown at this time what caused the victims vehicle to fall off the hill. But park rangers say speed factors in into a lot of accidents on the winding grizzly peak road.
