We have heard that she is watching the returns though with her family nearby. Same situation just two miles away at the trump pence headquarters. The mood there as you might imagine is much more upbeat. This is the new york hilton and also in midtown, manhattan. Again just two miles from the clinton party. Center we have Team Coverage tonight of covering the big national and local races, getting reaction from the candidates as the votes come in. Lets get right to the race for president and where we stand right now. Ktvu ken wayne tracking the latest. Reporter we want to show you whats going on here with the big map here putting it all in perspective. You said donald trump had 254 electoral votes with 270 needed to win. Here are the states where we dont have results yet. Arizona right now. Trump ahead 49. 4 to 45. 7 for clinton with 65 of the vote counted. Lets jump to the east coast in maine with four electoral votes. Clinton ahead. Just 1 with 84 of the votes counted. Next door New Hampshire. Its a virtual tie for trump. 47. 5 for clinton just four electoral votes there, but every vote counts. Pennsylvania a surprise, donald trump in the lead 48. 6 to clintons 47. 8 with 96 of the votes counted in pennsylvania. A blue state, Hillary Clinton ahead 48. 8 to trumps 44. 4 . 79 of the votes counted. All of those states almost meaningless because it really boils down to this. Donald trump needs 16 electoral votes to win the white house. Well guess what, michigan has 16 electoral votes. Let me highlight michigan. Right now donald trump is in the lead 48. 2 to Hillary Clintons 46. 6 with 77 of the vote counted in michigan. And if this holds up and donald trump wins this one state that still has not been called, the race is over and donald trump will be the next president. All right, ken thank you. We are also seeing reaction in the Financial Markets. Right now the dow features are down by 800 points. The plunge began hours ago when donald trump could pull off the upset this evening. Major Financial Markets in asia are lower. Markets hate uncertainty. Many investors believe that the unpredictable nature could bring uncertainty to the Global Financial market. California voters have approved prop 64, to legalize the use of marijuana. The package means adults older than 21 could legally possess up to an ounce of marijuana and grow six plants. Here are the current numbers. The yes leading the no, 66 to 44 as this race has been called up. Prop 64 has won. Recreational marijuana is legal in alaska, colorado, oregon, washington, and the district of columbia. It is a heated rematch in the battle to represent mike honda and attorney row cona facing off for the second time. But as you can see here, rocana has a sizable lead. 5842 . The 17th Congressional District covers southern Alameda County and northern santa clara county. Between harris and congresswoman Loretta Sanchez the numbers show the attorney general is headed to washington with this. A big win tonight 66 to 34 for Loretta Sanchez. A big race there for the u. S. Senate race. Now to the balance of power in the u. S. Senate the democrats have picked up one seat tonight. They now have 47 seats. Republicans have 48. We are waiting for results on the remaining five seats to see if the republicans will maintain their majority. In the u. S. House they are coming in at this hour. 223 so far where they still maintain control. Democrats with 160 seats. 62 seats are still undecided. Ross palombo is here now with more. I mean what can you say about it tonight . One of the biggest upsets in history when it comes to the race for president. The words to use tonight are amazing, incredible, fabulous. All worth it for donald trump himself to use and that it looks like tonight was his night. What an amazing turnout for him state after state after state. Right now he is just one state away from winning the presidency. This from someone who has never been a politician, never served in the military. Tonight history could very well be made for donald trump in just a matter of minutes. Billionaire businessman. What is the latest right now . It could all come down to michigan, very close to pennsylvania and michigan and were still waiting for arizona and New Hampshire. That is exactly it and a tie in New Hampshire right now, a tie in pennsylvania and michigan right now. Donald trump has a 1 lead. We have seen that lead grow and shrink throughout the night. There is still about 10 , im sorry 21 of the votes are the latest right here on my tablets saying that is whats out right now. Once those come in that they will decide it. No one ever thought it would come down to michigan. Tonight we speculated that it might come down to nevada, but it looks like it will be right there in michigan. Donald trump just continues to surprise. I dont think that anybody in their right mind would have given him a chance when he first entered the race. Now look hes about to become our 45th president. Hes on the cuff with a state that wasnt on the radar until last week. Listen to what the political analysts have to say about all of it. We heard that the candidates were returning to michigan, a state that democrats thought it was safely blue. All of a sudden now though it looks like it is breaking towards donald trump. Do you think that there is any chance . Do you think that there is any chance that Hillary Clinton is going to pull it off tonight from michigan . I was looking at these numbers. We were saying before the reason why we were holding out about michigan is that his lead initially in michigan had narrowed, contracting quite a bit. But in the last hour again its growing and it has gone in the other direction. We were waiting for it, detroit to come in, we were waiting for the county. Forgive me. But those votes are coming in and it is not going towards Hillary Clinton even though both those counties are primarily democratic. But its going to come down to what the people in those districts were thinking and what they were thinking was that donald trump will bring jobs back to the state. To give them a middle class lifestyle as they did not think as it continues to trend this way that she could deliver on that. It didnt turn out to be the year of the latino voters as they were speculating. It doesnt look like African American voters came out with any significant numbers. Certainly not in michigan. Is it all about middle class . The group that donald trump has flatout said that hell go after and that he was going to win and tonight that was the group. The majority of the votes, donald trump had a strategy that he could pull enough of them out to win. And to offset the African Americans and the latino, the asians, the other groups. Donald trump apparently has picked the right course. What happened to all the outrage apparently from women of the 52 to 53 of the votes. The largest demographic of all is women. But tonight it doesnt look like there has been a difference. At the end of the day even a lot of women were not happy with Hillary Clinton as the candidate and thats the bottom line here. Whether it is a white majority or whatever, that a whole lot of people sampled. And they may have talked about clinton tonight. Im convinced that they voted for donald trump. He had to be nearly perfect going into this in order to win. Now at this point Hillary Clinton has to be nearly perfect to pull it out. Does Hillary Clinton have any chance left . I said it, a small chance. I think that mr. Trump will be president unless something completely different changes. In pennsylvania they counted 98 of the vote with 38,000 vote lead. I dont see why this would suddenly shift. That is wisconsin. And pennsylvania. I mention that. Right. This is what happened that clinton had all these states on her side of the ledger. One by one you would watch them get peeled off. I feel like that is game seven last year. That you know going in that you would have all the odds in your favor, but you knew lebron james was on your team to possibly pull this out. We have spent a good portion of the night talking about what donald trump had to do right. So lets spend a moment real quickly to talk about what Hillary Clinton may have done wrong. What more should she have possibly done to pull out these states . Well my feeling is she was having trouble resonating with people for a very long time. The email scandal just stuck to her through this entire process. When the tapes came out with billy bush and donald trump took his hit, she was still taking a hit for the email issue. And i dont think that she could get beyond that. And joe was it just the e mail or more about her trustworthiness . And overall with their continued attack from benghazi . Well frankly it is not just benghazi and claims they would buy into that and a group of people in libya that would promise they could take over. That she convinced barack obama to back down after they were on and they could not do that deal and they felt safe if they survive that they were interested. So let me answer your question about trustworthiness more than a year ago and my College Classes with the millennial students and their firsttime voters. I would ask them what they would think for that moment and that moment. That everyone in that student is for Bernie Sanders, just one person. When i asked them why, i was fascinated by that. How much would they know about Hillary Clinton . They told them that trustworthiness and truthfulness. If they know that what do you think of the housewife . Were going to talk about this all night long. Im sure that there will be a view on it later on. Should Hillary Clinton lose tonight, its not over yet. We still have a little ways to go. And we worked very hard. Reporter a lot of people tonight are saying that they did not do anything. What is your response to that . The polls are off. For me as a republican i know what im hearing on the ground and when i called to talk to voters. But one thing is that the polls are flawed and a lot of the samples are for democrats. The other thing they might have assumed that traditional powers would apply. But the other thing as i said they will be calling on their elections. Finally so Much Negative front on donald trump over the last couple of months for the media that means that a lot of people were not willing to honor. Are you at all surprised though at this moment that he is leading . I am surprised at some of the states. Im surprised at how close they would have been. Thank you so much. I appreciate it. All right, the race is still too close to call. Another Election Party in San Francisco where supporters for Hillary Clinton are gathered at this hour. Ktvu Jana Katsuyama has reaction from there along with the senator Dianne Feinstein also in San Francisco tonight. Reporter well, theres been a lot of nervous tension here. Some of the main organizers for the Hillary Clinton campaign here in San Francisco just got up to speak to try to rally this crowd. Take a look at martin our photographer over there with hundreds of people who are trying to keep the hope up tonight around every single win in the clinton column. They were just thinking about nevada, which a lot of the california voters went into that state of the battleground state and their worse hours, weeks, months all to try to turn that state where they will be celebrating a small victory tonight. But certainly that there are a lot of anxieties between a lot of people that is shaking their heads. And this really has been tense here. Earlier this evening we were downtown at a private function where Dianne Feinstein was gathered with some of her friends. It was very quiet, very tense there. We did speak to the senator. She was leaving giving us some of her thoughts on this evening. Im feeling dismay. This is not what was expected. I think it is very hard for many of us. The country will survive because we always survive. Maybe this evening will change. Its still early on, its hard to tell. So it is very early on because, you know, that you see what the impact can be. On things we care so much about. So you caught me in a very depressed mood and hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I know my state, i know the 40 Million People in the state and im going to represent you to the very best of my ability. Stand up, say it like i think it is. Now while 64 passed, it is not exactly a party there right now. Reporter well actually right now there is the party thats in full swing. Theyre thrilled with the victory and the passage of 64. All eyes are glued to the tv set just watching the president ial race. Like i said theyre very happy about the prop 64 legalizing the Recreational Use of marijuanas path, and they are tempered by whats going on with the president ial race. Here with me is a opponent of state assemblyman david chu to give us some of the results on proposition 64 and what are your thoughts about the president ial outcome and the impact on 64 . Well obviously the president ial news, the National News has been incredibly disappointing. I think its going to take us a long time to recover from the news of the night. But with prop 64 it is bittersweet. We all know that in the history of our country that the war on cannabis, the prohibition on cannabis and alcohol just didnt work. We saw billions of dollars being wasted every year, thousands of families who are destroyed because they have family members who are in prison because of possession of marijuana. Many of us have thought for years that a better policy will focus on those areas that have been the legalization, regular ration, and taxation and that is what the voters have voted on this evening. Reporter if they are concerned, i know that the president ial race has not been decided yet, but it is the trumps presidency, the impacts on 64. If it does turn out tomorrow horning that trump will be the next president , then we have no idea what their perspective is on a lot of the criminal justice policies. Particularly with regards to the war on drugs and the war on cannabis as it remantos be seen on what their administration will do in this hour. Pretty thrilled about their results here tonight obviously. A bittersweet night with a lot of those folks that are thrilled with the fact that we are taking a step forward and really that we think in a new way of how we would need to look at the use of marijuana, which is no different than impacts on the human body and alcohol. A lot of people are still here even though the victory of prop 64 was announced a while ago as people are sticking around, trying to see the results of the president ial race.
