That attempted carjacking happened at a parking garage. Police have released photos of the two suspects. Reporter frank, were just outside the apartment complex where the Armed Robbery took place. The victim says shes scared, and asked us not to identify her. Could be any mom. Thats what i think is scary. Just that it happened in an alley. Reporter a 36yearold and her baby live in this large apartment complex. Surveillance cameras captured the two suspects walking into the garage. The single mom says she had pulled into her space when the two suspects approached her. She said the security gate in the garage was not working that day. This happened in our building where we live. They came in. Reporter she says the suspect with the ponytail held her at gunpoint, while the one with the hoody yanked her. I said im not leaving without my baby. Reporter mom says one suspect eventually gave her the baby. And i covered my baby with my body, because thats when i thought they were going to start shooting. So they wouldnt let us go, all of a sudden, we got pushed to the side. He told the other one, lets go. Reporter the mom suspects that a neighbor who came into the garage spooked the suspects, and they ran away without taking her car. Police tell us there were two other carjackings in the city that night that may have been linked. Brazen is definitely the word to use. As i say before, i havent heard that happening, where they it actually grabbed the child. Reporter mom says inside her backpack was 300 cash. Money that she was going to use for her daughters birthday party. I dont want this to happen to another mother or her baby, because thats not okay that this happened in San Francisco, because it would hurt me if this happened to another momma baby in my same neighborhood, or building, or anywhere else. Reporter heres another look at the two suspects. One is wearing a dis distinctive looking shirt that says hustle bang. Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the men to call 911, saying that theyre armed and dangerous. Its frightening what happened, and its frightening too why they would take that baby. He was taken into custody today after a 14yearold girl reported being repeatedly approached by him. Investigators say when they searched his residential, they found colleges of underage victims, a personal license plate for one girl, and stuffed animal, and other items. 19 other minors have been identified as potential victims. He had volunteered as a youth mentor or pastor. He is in jail in the Santa Clara County jail tonight. Bail has not been set. San franciscos city hall lit up in purple tonight for International Womens day. Thousands and thousands of women all over the world, including here in the bay area took part in todays events. But earlier today, this plaza was packed, and the marchers then went straight down 14th street to the sheriffs office. They say that they were marching for many different causes. A man from sasoon city is behind bars accused of killing his daughterinlaw. Police say they arrested a 63 yearold after he confessed to the killing during an interview with detectives early this morning. 29yearold samina bebe was found dead in the garage of her home yesterday morning. She had lived there with her husband and 2yearold son. Investigators say he admitted to killer her with a hammer. He was upset because he thought she was being disrespectful. He provided detail regarding how the murder occurred. Reporter police say he does not speak fluent english and made a confession through a translator. He is currently held in the Solano County jail. The city of emeryville is taking steps to protect children from lead exposure. Its the first city in Alameda County to introduce an ordinance that would require contractors doing home repairs to be certified in lead safe practices. Reporter with just over two square miles, emeryville might be the smallest city in Alameda County, but its not exempt from a larger lead problem. Historically known as an industrial waste land. The city has poured decades of work into lead abatement. Everything from leaded fuel to the burning of scrap metal here for several decades, filled the soil in this community with lead and other toxins. We have known that firsthand for a long time, remediating large sites for development. Reporter john bowedder spent 10 years focusing on housing issues, before becoming emeryvilles mayor. He said homes in the triangle, and doris neighborhoods likely contain lead. Those neighborhoods are almost exclusively comprized of pre1978 residential structures. Those structures are painted usually with lead paint back in the day. Reporter at tuesday nights council meeting, he introduced an ordinance that focuses on lead prevention for his community. Were going to require that all contractor and all firms to structures covered by the rule have certification, and provide proof of certification.
