Officials in germany are trying to determine a motive for the deadly shooting ram page in munich. A teenage gunman opened fire at a crowded Shopping Mall on friday and killing nine people and some of them children before turning the gun on himself. Reporter we know the shooter was an 18yearold germaniranian man who grew up in munich and did not have a criminal record and police have not found any ties to any terrorist groups, including isis. It was said, though, that he was getting psychological help. An eyewitness caught the moment the shooter opened fire outside of munich mcdonalds sending people fleeing. Not known why the 18yearold gunman started firing but, at this point, Police Believe he was acting alone. The germaniranian man was heard yelling from the roof of a parking lot, i am german. First, i thought someone had thrown firecrackers this neighbor said and i look down and see suddenly someone who shoots into the crowd. 2,900 police aacross germany and austria responded and munich in lockdown as hospital prepared for victims. The shooting follows a separate incident here in germany on monday when a 17yearold afghan Asylum Seeker wounded five people on a train with a knife and Islamic Group claimed responsibility for that attack. They share intelligence broadly and one of the things they have learned is not to unduly alarm the public when they dont have sufficient information to focus in a particular area. So the intent is not to raise fear but to raise awareness so that people are attentive and they are thinking about what their options are, if a mass shooter or active Shooter Event happens involving them.
