Eyewitness News Reporter diana rocco has new information in this story. Reporter jenny russo died on her 93rd birthday after a hitandrun driver slammed into her bedroom in the Early Morning hours friday. The 20yearold pickup truck driver turned himself in to Bristol Police 12 hours later after they found the damaged red dodge pickup at a home nearby. He expressed remorse. Like i said hes been cooperative through the entire process. Reporter russo family felt the house shake and saw headlights leaving the scene around 3ama trail of tire mark left in the grass. Yesterday was christmas and today now is her birthday, and, you know, we knew she was getting ill. But we didnt know that Something Like this would happen russo had been in hospice care. The impact pushed her dresser into her bed leaving her room exposed to the outside. Her son said he had to move her twice to a warmer location in the house while emergency crews repair the hole. Too much for her 58pound body. She died a short time later. She really wanted to pass in her own bedroom and unfortunately was not able to do that. She was a lively woman. She like to get dressed up and go out and have fun and stay active with the seep yours. Reporter police found the red dodged on bath street in bristol bore o suspects family leaves Bristol Township police station. Police decided not charge him until they talk to the district attorney. They say the man is remorseful and has apologized to the russo family. I wanted the family members of the driver respond to do their home with an apology and they were very gracious to him and accepting it. Reporter police are not releasing the name of the that 20 yeared driver. The da is expected to make a decision on what if any charges will be filed early next week. In Bristol Township, im diana rocco cbs3 Eyewitness News. New tonight police are investigating a serious crash in delaware county. Two vehicles collided at north state and gulf view roads in springfield. From chopper three you can see one of vehicles overturn. Were also told First Responders pulled at least one person from that car. Its unclear if anyone also was hurt. One person was killed after a motorcycle and truck collided in king of prussia tonight. Chopper three over river road and eau mccoys just after 5 00. A second person was flown to the hospital. That persons condition has not been released. The cause of that crash is under investigation. A hazmat scare prompts the evacuation of a home in germantown. Chopper three over the 200 block of after 6 00 this evening where a substance leaked from truck. Once the spill was contained official determined it was gas and allowed the family to retu return. She was driving from her home in lansdale to gilbertsville, Montgomery County when she somehow lost her way. Her family called police. This afternoon detectives found her 50 miles from home at the wawa on south Church Street in mt. Laurel, new jersey. Her neighbor says shes known for her independence. She live by herself, yes. I see her almost every day. When its warm she cut the grass and clean the yard. Very, very nice lady. Authorities say she was disoriented but otherwise unhurt. Its unclear where she was all those hours in between. Tonight Philadelphia Police are investigating a crash involving a schoolbus loaded with children on the roosevelt boulevard. Chopper three over the scene near henry avenue and east falls this afternoon. Authorities say the driver suffered burns from wires on that bus that caused him to lose control. None of the students on the bus were injured. They were transferred to another bus. A worker was killed at the Cherry Island landfill in wilmington this afternoon.
