There guys. Michelle obama the first lady of the United States expected to get on stage any second. In fact were told she is in the building here at Lasalle University and so are a about two or 3,000 people. In fact we just heard from the fire marshal. He is not allowing anyone else inside of this auditorium. Now, of course, this is the second day weve seen a Campaign Stop for Hillary Clinton here in pennsylvania. Yesterday vicepresident joe biden arrived at Drexel University in front of a much smaller crowd around 500 people. You can see here once again many more folks gathered here to hear the first lady speak. This is a very important stop for both parties. Thats because this is a swing state, pennsylvania, that is, weve seen the candidates arrive here to pennsylvania, weve seen top surrogates arrive here in pennsylvania and that is because the latest polls show that theres only a point or two separation here in pennsylvania when it comes to voters and who they might be voting for. This Campaign Stop like that of joe bidens yesterday is supposed to be about Voter Registration. Voter turnout here in our state and well get people registered and vote for either party, of course, both parties want more voters to vote for their candidates. We are expecting Michelle Obama to touch about that, touch about Voter Registration but we can expect her to talk little bit about the campaign itself. About the debate we saw on monday night. About Hillary Clintons opponent donald trump. Not sure what shell say exactly, of course, the vicepresident yesterday spoke a lot about donald trump and rea really his diss taken for him. Were also hearing of course from the republicans in all of this. The Republican Party of pennsylvania releasing this statement just a short while ago about Michelle Obamas Campaign Stop here at Lasalle University. Democrats are clearly worried about hillarys chances in the ski stone state this november and with good reason. Gleason is the chairman of the pennsylvania Republican Party. It continues, if pennsylvania was already decided, we wouldnt have seen democrats scrambling to so Many Democrats leaving their party. Since the beginning of the year alone, 94,000 democrats have joined the Republican Party. Right now back here live. You can hear were expecting someone to introduce the first lady of the United States. She is going to take the stage momentarily. But once again, this is the young lady who will introduce the first lady of the United States here in front of a crowd of around 3,000 people. Once the first lady arrives on stage, well of course bring you part of her speech. For now were live here at Lasalle University, im greg argos cbs3 Eyewitness News. Thanks lot, greg. That applause made me think she just walked in the room. Of course, as greg said, she should be speaking at any moment now. Well bring that to you live. We need the rain, but then of course that means you need your umbrellas. Meteorologist Katie Fehlinger is tracking the rain from the cbs3 weather center. Indicate did he, whats the latest. The latest is the wet weather is starting arrive a earlier than scheduled here specific to the southern counties in our area as we take look first and for most at a loop from the last couple of hours on storm scan3 you can see how things really just over took the first state of delaware and since moved across delaware bay into new jersey and Philadelphia County just barely getting clipped by this. As we had expected at least this is all moving into the southern counties first, however, it is earlier than it was originally wants pate to do arrive frankly. But with that said, its just sort of Getting Started what was inevitable any way. The rain has been on the way now with this latest storm system and its already here obviously for some of you. Now the rest of the day the further north you go youre likely to stay dry, but tonight, lehigh valley, for example, poconos youll start to see that rain building in as well. Heres where we currently stand temperature wise. 67 degrees at the airport. 68 up in trenton and low 70s mild afternoon underway currently even despite the cloud cover and rain starting to build in through millville and Atlantic City and wildwood. Some of the outlying suburbs outside of philadelphia checking in mid and upper 60s current until mt. Holly flirting with 70 right now. As we give you sort of a gist of whats going to happen the next couple of days, this storm system is a cut off low, and its a very aptly named system. In other words its cutting itself off from the main flow of energy. Well talk much more about this system later in the broadcast. Wet weather builds from the south the west of today. Tomorrow search al wash out with periods of rain any time and that wet weather likely lingers even as we head towards the weekend. So again much more on this as we move forward in the forecast more importantly, jim, ill let when you know we actually expect to dry out, too. Thanks so much, katie. Dscc is responsible for the content of this advertising. All right. So its going to be wet one. Well, yeah. Starting to turn that way already. This latest storm system will hang out for awhile too. I want to show you interesting video as people across phoenix, arizona, are still brushing off the dust from a recent had a boo. Now a wall of dust and it stops residents in their tracks on tuesday. It was actually recorded as one of the largest look at that. Unbelievable. Ive driven through one before. Craziness. Blinding recorded as one of the largest dust storms of the summer and likely the last. This helicopter pilot estimated the dust cloud to be 4,000 feet high. To give you a frame of reference, thats basically four and change of liberty one place stacked on top of one another. Thats how tall that was. So four sky scrapers and change on top of one another. Craziness, right . Unbelievable video for us out there. Now, we are not concerning ourselves with dust storms necessarily, rather the rain on the way. Its more than anything i would call a very big nuisance for our region but we are going to see some pretty steady rain out of this. Especially through the western suburbs we think. Take a look first and for most at storm scan nice wide zoom. Weve had moisture building in from the south already. Heres the actual storm, though, that starts to rotate in. This first batch of moisture wasnt over chief started little bit extra early with the wet weather across delaware and southern new jersey this is a storm that actually is going to move in and bring this prolonged stretch of rain that were calling for and its called a cut off low. Very apt name because it gets cut off from the main flow of the jet stream. Jet stream has two really important purposes to separate warm and cool air but to also steer storm systems and if you get an area of low pressure that breaks off from that pattern or that flow, all it can do is sit there and it needs something to should have it out of the way and thats why it will be sitting and spinning and look at this were way up to saturday by this point, and its still here. So what that means is that youre dealing with multiple days of additional rain even though the rain is all right getting under way right now its going to hang on through the day tomorrow i would say through the day tomorrow when we see instead yesterday and heaviest of this rain by about the same time come friday we may already have almost an inch and a half worth of rain collected up through the western suburbs much notice again lighter amounts the further east you go. It really will depend where the heaviest rain bands decide to set themselves up regardless were all in f
