Hard to believe it is thanksgiving week and we are talking about temperatures in the 70s today. We broke some records, live here on cedar crest boulevard and 22. And, yeah it is hard to believe that right now were still in the 60s. In allentown people were enjoying mild temperatures. You could break out short sleeves. That is because temperatures are more than 20 degrees above normal. In fact we hit a new record in allentown today, a high of 71, breaking old record of 69. Our first plowable snowfall of the season is on the the way for wednesday and timing could not be worse. Wednesday is one of the busiest travel day of the year and penndot crews are already gearing up to make sure your holiday road trip is a safe one. Eyewitness News Reporter walt hunter is live at city hall where authorities are stepping up their presence, walt. Reporter right now you can see Police Commanders behind me in the west side of city hall, they have been preparing for weeks for any possible demonstration that is might come. This west side of city hall newly refurbished plaza location of post tensionally one of the demonstration this is evening. Take a look at this video we shot a few minutes ago. These are bike officers. They are typically the officers that are deployed around large demonstrations. They were used during the occupy demonstration a few years ago. They are if you will, the first wave of police intended to help keep order if there is a crowd disturbance and there is no indication that there will be. Police here at city hall keeping a very low key but intense eye on what developments might come throughout the evening. They have been planning. They have manpower in the area , and if demonstrators arrive here, they will be watching them allowing them of course to express their views, to say what it is they want to say and they want to make sure that nothing gets out offhanded, or there are no problems. Right now preparations on the west side of city hall potentially a protest vocal spot well underway, very low key, planning underway for weeks and everybody waiting to see what the evening will bring. Preparations are underway right now inside of arch street United Methodist church and said to be gathering point for demonstrators this evening. It is organize by group pal. They are a local clergy group made up of churches and Church Leaders to take a active role in policy here in philadelphia and across the country. I can tell thaw many of them were actually in ferguson as they say the clergy there played a very Critical Role in the escalating tensions between protesters and law enforcement. They plan to use that same know how this evening, once that grand jury decision comes down, take a look and listen. We are here to support those who are coming out to hear their pain and walk with them and let them know that they are not alone. Part of the journey long term business having them have a say in transforming those decisions and having a say in their collective destiny. They do in the continue to feel victimized by a system. Power says he hoped to take all of the emotions and hardness that into action. We are looking at entrance where demonstrators will go and gather in the sanctuary this evening. Hundreds of thousands of tickets have been issued, and millions of dollars collected in fines by 24 municipalities that participated. One year gloucester township alone issued two thousand ticket and collected about a milliondollar in net revenue.
