Glad to hear they are okay. Absolutely. Are we going to be okay after this. I think we will. It is taking a toll on us mentally for sure. Absolutely. I keep saying it is not the most unusual thing to see snow but when you have had such a winter and temperatures in the 80s that is it. Perception so often can be more overriding then reality then normal. Lets take you through statistics here. Okay. This isnt the most whacky thing to ever happen. Looking back to 1915 they are going back far between april 3rd and 4th we had a huge snowstorm that dumped over a foot. 19. 4 inches of snow fell. That is going way back. So it is kind of rare to see that kind of a intensity with snowfall in april but the latest measurable snow we have had was between april 19th and 20th in 1938, a little bit more recent. And the the latest snow that we have ever reported was actually in may, may eighth, of 1947 it wasnt much just a trace but there you have it. It can happen. Yesterday was impressive, lets be honest, it was a clipper system that had basically bigger legs to stand on. In malvern we had 5 inches of snow. Glen mills pick up over three. 3 inches in mullica and list goes on. At philly international the with just a couple tenth of an inch but enough that you noticed it. Storm scan at this point has completely calmed down, cleared out. That system is barely a blip on the radar at this point but things are always ever changing in the the weather department. We will get out to the eastern 23rd of the united states, two separate bridges of the jet stream bringing in one system disturbance to the the great lakes a and another down through the deep south. These two pieces come together and we will see this move through as a cold front with wet weather in the days ahead and we will track that. In the meantime we are hosting the masters right here on cbs3 and it the looks like things will stay dry with sunshine and upper 60s in augusta a today. Looking at the live Neighborhood Network what a beautiful sunrise but i will show you this view and look closely a at a baseball diamond outside middletown ship high school. It looks like a thin layer of either some snow or some icing that was left behind and cannot even see the sheen on the rooftops here. The bottom line is not driving on the rooftop but if you see something that looks wet outside there is a a good shot it has since frozen over from yesterdays snow. Do be careful. Anything untreated where you you did well with the snowfall band that is where you might run into that. We will jump to future weather, still pretty quiet. Clouds will rebuild by this point but regardless it is a sign of things to come. Next frontal boundary on the way bringing in a publishing he will on the radar of a couple showers, now at the this point future radar doesnt pick up on a shower over south philly by the time we have got the season home opener for the phillies, however, i want to allow for that chance, there is a a potential that we will see dampness in time for that. So keep it in mind. The weather of the next few days is tuesday. That is when the a actual front drops through and it will bring in periods some heavy rain but it is clearing out by wednesday heres where we stand at the moment right at or below freezing mark in most instances here. Well off to the south. Chill has settled in. We dropped 42 at this hour. Thirty in raleighdurham. It is a cold start for everyone up and down the ease certain seaboard unless you are in key west, right. Chilly day. Starting a off with sunshine giving way to more cloud cover, high hits 49 degrees. We cannot even whip up high today. That tells you something. More seasonal chill as we bottom out to 41 degrees. Quick check on the first pitch forecast, mostly cloudy, perhaps a shower for first pitch and the seven day forecast, does ease up with time, by the time we will get to the tail end of the up come week we are back where we should be low to mid 60s, rahel, back to you.
