My guest this morning, other than this beautiful helena, two year old pit from the Camden County shelter, callet i mcguire, new jersey aid for animals, do you great work in new jersey. Thank you. And jamie devine, you are just the brand new winner of the miss philadelphia international. So great you are here. Because your platform is pitbulls. It is. Yes, it is. Why pitbulls . My family has adopted pitbulls, you know, i just love them so much. Want everyone to know how misunderstood they are. And spread awareness so everyone can get a pitbull. Because i think everyone should have one. I think there are so many in the shelters, as this dog came from, kathy. Thats right. This is helena at the Camden County shelter. They are going to be bringing their dogs at the National Pitbulls awareness day, which is what were here to talk about. Thats right. And you have put up billboard, which is on route 73. White horse pike in berlin with jamie and helena announcing the event. And that is a National Pitbull awareness day, because again, this is a much misunderstood animal evened breed. I know that there is a local hospital apparently didnt want one of the therapy dogs, because it was a pitbull. Helena here is absolutely beautiful. A lot of people might be terrified at her face because that is sort of the reputation theyve gotten. Undeserved so . Yes, when go into a shelter, and, you know, if you just are interested in a dog it, may not show well at the shelter, but you ask the people to take it out and look at their assessment, theyre all assessed, all temperament, and the shelter will bring you out to meet the dog, you know, the dog is much calmer and you see. This dog is, you know great. Would probably like to lay down or go finds a bowl of watt their weve got for her. But so right. So many shelters have so many pitbulls. You see them in there. And they dont show well. No dog shows well real nay shelter. Stressful situation. Thats right. So, but they are temperament tested at the shelters, you find out which dog of any breed is good with other dogs, cats, better for kids, families with kids, that sort of thing. So it is one of the things that you should do. And i think rather than just knee jerk on people what should people do . Well, i mean, first do their homework of course, if you are going any dog you should supervise, if their children, children and dogs need to be supervised apart or together. And you know do your homework with the shelter, and not every dog is for every family, but pitbulls are certainly an option, i think you would probably agree, jamie, you get the right dog of any kinds, and it works great in the family . People need to do their homework. We expect dogs it think like us. We need to start thinking like they do. Probably make life a lot easier for everybody. But we will look for your event which will be on the 26th of october, sunday, 12 00 to 3 00 the at mannys and the address . 221 white horse pike, National Pitbull awareness day. You can get information at info at njafa. Org. And maybe adopt your own pitbull. Thank you so many. See you next time.
