Fire fighters died in the line of duty in north philadelphia fire officials identified fireman as gabriel lee of Ladder Company number 12. He was found unconscious in the engine 50 fire station and 300 block of cambria a street and then rushed to the hospital. Officials say lee responded to a fire early yesterday, and then returned to the firehouse to work night shift, police assembled last night at Temple University hospital to escort lees body to the medical examiners office. Fire fighters from another station were also on hand to solute the fallen fire fighter , and his body was brought out of the hospital. The cause of the death is under investigation. In other news, hard to believe but just one day away from the Democratic National convention the at the Wells Fargo Center in south philadelphia and, of course, security is tight surrounding the convention. Authorities closed south broad from packer avenue to the navy yard and roadways surrounding the Wells Fargo Center and fdr park are closed off as well. It has caused a bit of confusion among drivers early this morning. It is a place of fun on foot and bicycles. As you you can see that confusion in the past half an hour for those drivers seems to be waning as folks begin to get a better, reconn figuring their routes in the day light but take a look at the video when road closures went in effect yesterday, many surprised drivers had to do u turns and seek help to figure out how to get around them. Let me break it down both north and southbound lanes of broad street from packer to the navy yard are shut off to traffic until friday he can. And sections of the paterson from seventh to fdr park are also closed as are sections of terminal avenue and south 11th street. Demonstrators gathered yesterday outside dnc rules Committee Meeting at the Pennsylvania Convention center calling for an end to the parties super delegate system. Meanwhile inside the Convention Center the rules committee disputed a proposal to end super delegates. They are a party or elect official who is free to cast a vote for any candidate at the convention regardless of who the voters prefer. Critics say it is undemocratic im a democrat because i believe in democracy, i believe in the power of one person, one vote. We need to make sure our party reflects that principal.
