Colleagues have several pieces of good news on the transportation grant front to share. The federal Transit Administration earlier this mujt awarded 2 2000000 to [indiscernible] and golden gate transit for all electric fleet and balance to golden gate transit. Retrofit ferry floats in alameda and San Francisco by installing Battery Storage system. This is great news for Treasure Island and mission bay routes which is the first with zero emission ferrys under development and in operation by late 2025. The 6 million to golden gate transit will replace the Ferry Landing at the ferry terminal. We thank fta [indiscernible] nury fernandez and coming to San Francisco to make these awards in person. We are also beyond excited by the federal Rail Administration award of 3. 07 billion in federal state Partnership Funds to california high speed rail. A investment that accelerate completion of the Central Valley segment. The 3 billion support construction of true track lectifyed Passenger Rail line connecting the city merced, fresno and bakersfield. Speaker pelosi and padilla advocated both sets of grants and thank them for strong sustained support. High speed rail [indiscernible] create jobs while bringing benefits and climate and access and equity from the peninsula to Central Valley la and beyond. In a separate related action, far federal Rail Administration announced new grants for high speed rail through the corridor identification and development or corridor id program, which drives future Passenger Rail expansion nation wide including up to 500 thousand for phase 1 corridor including developing a scope schedule and cost estimate for preparing completing or documenting the Service Development plan. Item 3, executive directors report. Information item. Good morning. In more good news following chairs remarks about high speed rail and wita, San Francisco environment received a grant from the u. S. Department of energy, 600 thousand to extend the city ebike dlirfby pilot program. This grant will more then double the number of participants in the ebike Delivery Program that the department had initiated. It will continue to monitor the impacts on the delivery efficiency and working revenue. Help us at the ta understand how to build upon their success and address any remaining gaps through our eco friendly downtown delivery study which is underway. Convene working group of Small Businesses along with environmental organizations, Delivery Companies and other stakeholders to discuss and identify these Good Movement strategies to reduce emissions. We look forward reporting back on that. The out reach continues with one on one [indiscernible] Transportation Team hosted a town hall meeting and pas participated in the potrero Booster Association in november focused on i280 transit car pool lane at terminus of northbound lanes add king. This is in the Environmental Planning stages and the purpose of the project is provide priority for Public Transit vehicles, particularly muni and buses and other shuttles and buses and car pool in that area. The idea is to continue the corridor facility from downtown san jose to downtown San Francisco through san mateo extending their lanes to the airport. Our outreaches focus on introducing the project and hearing feed back on alternatives and analysis approach and we look forward sharing the evaluation of alternatives next spring. Outreach is also currently underway for the brotherhood way study. We released survey which folk s can find at sfcta. Org brotherhood and share a map with existing conditions and will be hosting a walk around the neighborhood with Community Members december 16, so interested members from the Community Folks invited to join the walk 11 a. M. December 16 at daly city bart station. Continuing with outreach events we have been doing a lot on Treasure Island with av shuttle hosting numerous groups round the country and world in fact. Associationinternational Association Union of Public Transportation agency for europe came and learned about the project and we also been working with local businesses to promote businesses on the island through a new brochure that points out all the different resource agencies, businesses and other points of interest along the shuttle route. Project delivery, sfmta good news on the quick build front continues to roll out that program and they expect to Start Construction of the lincoln way quick build over the coming months. Now they completed outreach and design. The lincoln way quick build will install 20 new cross walks 12 painted safety zones [indiscernible] as well as visibility upgrades to signal and timing adjustment. Mta is on track to complete construction of the hyde street quick build project and deliver the lake merced project. Earlier the fall mta activated the first new signal at lincoln and kezar on High Injury Network and improvements accessible and signals and median upgrade. Turning to sales tax revenue updates we collected in the First Quarter of the fiscal year, 27. 3 million. This is slightly lower then the First Quarter of 2023 about 4 percent lower and 3 percent below our annual budgeted revenues, however we are seeing hopefully pick up in shopping and downtown activities through the holiday jz hope that bears out over the coming rest thof fiscal year. The thing i like to bring to your attention in the report is la to las vegas lines and basically reset the expectation of what people are expecting for [indiscernible] on the one hand, we have the portal, which is proposing to extend 8 billion. On 1 and a half miles of caltrain track expansion to the transit center. Meanwhile, in nevada, the private sector is proposing to build a 218 mile high speed line for 12 billion. 50 percent more. 8 billion of that line is coming from the private sector. I would like to make the board aware of serious [indiscernible] created by the current proposal replacing the creek bridge and replacing a section of the t3 line with a bridge over two years. First, i would like to remind the board that the t3 extension and the central subway were designed to reconnect two chinese communities. Chinatown and visitation valley. Not [indiscernible] less then 2 years after opening the central subway. Second, there is no accredable reason why the [indiscernible] to be treated any differently then the replacement of the [indiscernible] caltrain bridge in palo alto which no longer requires a bridge, also for two years. The solution is simple, build separate bridges in each direction in phases. With each bridge carrying [indiscernible] reducing the impact of singing tracking during the construction phase. At this time there were 3 settlements one was mission delores. One the presidio and one was yerba buena which was urban center. There were 800 people in 1848 it was small. A lot of Historic Buildings were here including pony express headquarters. Wells fargo. Hudson Bay Trading Company and famous early settlers one of whom william leaderdorph who lived blocks from here a successful business person. Africanamerican decent and the first million airin california. Wilwoman was the founders of San Francisco. Here during the gold rush came in the early 1840s. He spent time stake himself as a merchant seaman and a business person. His father and brother in new orleans. We know him for San Franciscos history. Establishing himself here arnold 18 twoochl he did one of many things the first to do in yerba buena. Was not california yet and was not fully San Francisco yet. Because he was an american citizen but spoke spanish he was able to during the time when america was taking over california from mexico, there was annexations that happened and conflict emerging and war, of course. He was part of the peek deliberations and am bas doorship to create the state of california a vice council to mexico. Mexico granted him citizenship. He loaned the government of San Francisco money. To funds some of the war efforts to establish the city itself and the state, of course. He established the first hotel here the person people turned to often to receive dignitaries or hold large gatherings established the First Public School here and helped start the Public School system. He piloted the first steam ship on the bay. A big event for San Francisco and depict instead state seal the ship was the sitk a. There is a small 4 block long length of street, owned much of that runs essentially where the transamerica building is to it ends at california. I walk today before am a cute side street. At this point t is the center what was all his property. He was the person entrusted to be the citys first treasurer. He was not only a forefather of the establishment of San Francisco and california as a state but a leader in industry. He had a direct hahn in so many things that we look at in San Francisco. Like anyone who looks like him to be, i can do this, too. To have the citys first banker and a street in the middle of financial district. That alone is powerful.
