Business in San Francisco for 11 years and have been in San Francisco for 10 years. I can share this experience to help improve Public Transit system in San Francisco. Since i moved to San Francisco i have [inaudible] walking distance for business. I own the business i live in the Richmond District. I walk to business. I walk to gym, i walk to church. I walk to grocery and i walk to restaurants. Im very interested in Pedestrian Safety issues. And actually even his daughter and kids also help out at the ice cream shop the most popular spots in the neighborhood. Of course it does not hurt it is next to a comic book store. You can imagine joes ice cream and comic book store demographic is everyone and definitely working families in the richmond. So i will i am you know pleased to appoint sean kim to this ctacac, he also has been working as or serving as a geary brtcac for the last year. And has been organizing and representing many interests but the mall business ordinance especially the Small Business owners of color and imguarantee on geary. I do believe that sean kim will bring a different voice. A voice of people, color andim guarantees to the space. I request your vote in supporting sean kims appointment. I will support commissioner chan and i do think that it is good for us to have all sectors of the community in the diversity of our city reflected in these commissions. He is the leaders of gear boulevard Merchants Association and worked closely with the organization to representative interests of our merchnt and Community Members on issues. Done a terrific job in this area sean is a first generationim guarantee relies on municipal tow get kids to school. He understand the needs that all richmondress debts have to get around the neighborhood and the rest of San Francisco and experienced with transit in seoul korea. Seans a team player who works with everyone. He is a good listener with excellent judgment and outstanding decisionmaking ability he will be a tremendous asset. The week after that will be the deadline for appropriation and june second is the final dead line for all bills to move out of the house. Today we have 2 bills to discuss. The first bill is a new recommendation for support. Tell take action at the end of my presentation. We wanted to provide an update for you on the transit fiscal cliff at the state level. So sense our presentation to you this year we have been continuing discussions and discussions happening in general across the state to identify the needs with magnitude and how needs differ from agency to agency with respect to the fiscal cliff. Governor and legislator are debating the budget next year there has been a coalition lead by the Transit Association and committed a proposal that would restore cuts to transit as well as provide a 5 billion dollars package of spending on transit operations over 5 years. The Metro Transportation commission has supported the california Transit Associations proposal as well as advancing bay area proposal that would add several options for revenue measures and a budget many of options 7. 4 billion over 5 years. They would provide account act measures make sure that operators are dog had they can to get riders become to transand i improust quality of service with respect to safety and connectivity and also reduce costs and spending the caucus framework restoring the transit cut and advancing Funding Solutions and provide local flex ability and protect infrastructure projects.
