Today Police Officials wont give exact numbers but admit a lot more police on duty today, three hercules teams along the parade route and a lot of security we dont see. Thing that police are telling us about so far is that someone was flying a drone around the beginning of the parade that happened earlier this morning up at 81st and central park west. Investigators are trying to figure out why a giant blimp made an Emergency Landing in a neighborhood. It suddenly had to land as it flew back from parade. It happened at the Woodward Parkway School in burkett is m. J. Reporter well, the pilot said it was not due to any kind we are outside the woodward parkway farmingdale. A 150 foot long blimp was forced to make an Emergency Landing in a ball field. The blimp came down at about 10 00 this morning. It was on its way to the macys parade actually on its way to new york and came down with help from people on the ground. Neighbors saw it trying to land and pitched in to help bring it down. In this video obtained by Eyewitness News you can see it. The pilot was alone in the blimp flying solo and he was not injured. It was quite a site. Neighbors who had been wait ing to watch the macys parade on tv stepped out to see a huge blimp drifting through their neighborhood not much higher than the tree line. It was owned by airsign. Com and headed to refuel and to head back out to new york when apparently the tiny engine that powers the blimp would not handle the winds. The pilot said he tried to turn back to republic but couldnt do it. I diverted here, my crew wasnt here yet, they were we had a couple of we made an approach over these trees, came down and touched and they were able to grab the crown lines and hold me in place and we went through our normal deflation procedure. Now dozens of families are without water. New jersey reporter toni yates is live with the details. Toni. Reporter this cannot be happening, a water main break on thanksgiving. Really . This happened at 5 00 this morning. As you can see united workers, the crews are busy on the street patching things up now. News copper 7 has the sky view for you. Were not talking about flooded roads with this break. The water was spewing underground and lots of it. About 70 customers are without Water Service until the repairs are made. This is one of those houses where the water main basement. The Fire Department came out with some pumps to take up like this. The homeowner told us she didnt even know that water was coming in until she got a friendly visit at the door. They told me that there had been a water main break and wanted to check any basement. The water was pouring in to the that was a rude awakening in the morning. Reporter now that break was in a 16 inch pipe but that pipe was also put in the ground way back in the 1930s. A search is underway for the 26yearold woman running in east river park. Police say the woman was on a footpath near jackson street on the Lower East Side last night when a man jumped out at her. The suspect dragged the victim to the ampa he took the womens credit card and cell phone before fleeing on a bike.
