You know, even after 6 years meltons murder was never considered a cold case. Investigators never gave up. They never stopped hunting down leads and today all of their hard work paid off. Jonelle meltons husband, michael, her mother and her two sisters were with Monmouth County officials when they announced three arrests in meltons murder. James fair made his first appearance on felony murder. His public defender entered a not guilty plea for him. Next was gregory jeanbaptiste facing the same charges. His attorney also entering not guilty for him. Ebenezer byrd stands before the judge tomorrow. The prosecutors said the three broke into meltons neptune city apartment thinking it was someone else, their intended target. Once they encountered her they brutally murdered her. They planned to burglarize a specific apartment but this was essentially a case of mistaken identity. We know this process is a long way from being over.
