What could be a Silver Lining for the government employees. The house may vote to give back pay to those furloughed workers. President obama is not traveling to asia. He has canceled that trip to keep up pressure on congress to pass a budget bill. Hallie jackson, thank you. We have been telling you about all of the federal workers affected. That shutdown will make it hard to track this flu season. It arrived early in maryland. Jennifer franciotti has more. Good morning. Good morning. The cdc also being affected by the Government Shutdown. Saying iticials are is earlier than it is ever been spotted in maryland during flu season. The cdc has stopped tracking influenza cases, a victim of the Government Shutdown. Theyre flu surveillance homepage says it all. No one is watching where the flu is moving or whether a pandemic is emerging. A doctor says that maryland and other states will continue tracking and testing locally. Police are back on the scene after a shooting on capitol hill. And woman tried to ram her car through an outer security barricade at the white house. She backed up and sped off and that police on a chase to capitol hill where she was eventually shot and killed. A baby was found in the backseat of that car and the baby was not hurt.
