S. Marble marshalled killed floyd cook. He allegedly shot and wounded a Tennessee Police officer. Adriana diaz is in burkesville, reporter cook was found where you see the spot lights about half a mile down the road shortly after midnight. Police in this area had nearly called off the search, until they located a heat signature they believed to be cooks body. The police found him lying in a ditch and shots were fired. He brandished a gun. Shots were exchanged. And cook sustained wounds which ultimately led to his death. Reporter the 62yearold fugitive was pronounced dead at ending a weeklong manhunt that spanned two states and involved close to a dozen agencies. Late last night, cook approached a woman asking for water. She recognized him and called 911. She is chosen to remain anonymous. I was clicking my keys to unlock my car and i thought i saw a shadow in the garage. And i looked at it again and i said, oh, my god, oh, my god and my brother said, what is it . I said, its him its him tonight was the scary moment because, you know, we didnt know where he was. When youre searching in the dark that is an uneasy feeling. Shots fired Reporter Police had been frantically searching the tennessee kentucky border looking for cook after he allegedly shot a Police Officer on sunday. I know youre here. They are coming. Reporter police say that officers life was saved by his bulletproof vest. Cook allegedly opened fire on later while evading capture. Cook has a rap sheet stretching back to the 1970s. He has been convicted of rape, burglary, robbery and assault. There is a feeling of relief that it is over. That the community is safer now just because we found him. This morning, passengers on a flight to venezuela say it was chaos when an engine burst into flames before takeoff. More than 100 people had to evacuate the boeing plane in ft. Lauderdale airport. A national Transportation Safety board team is now investigating what caused the apparent fuel leak. The second time a boeing plane engine has caught fire the last two months. In september a boeing 777 engulfed in flames in las vegas at an airport. There is layers of inspection is designed to catch things like this but every once in a while, something calls in the cracks. On the other side of that, he is convicted of a felony, which is the cause of the great punishment here. On the sex offender list for the rest of his life . What happens in misdemeanor Sexual Assault or statutory rape in New Hampshire is you do not register as a sex offender. However the felony, which is the use of a computer to lure or entice a minor into sex, that carries a make any difference toshy mandatory sex offender for life.
