Six people, including a 4yearold boy, were thrown out on to the Atlantic City expressway. A woman we spoke with who asked not to be named says show came upon the scene in the wilkesbarre lane within westbound lanes in hamilton township. A child was laying on the righthand side of the road being helped by a driver from the car in front of me. There was a woman laying in the road on the left and other people laying in the middle of the highway. Reporter state police say 35yearold james dennis was killed in the accident. He was riding in the cab with the child and the driver, 45yearold roselyn kornegay, both of whom were critically hurt. Authorities say two men and a woman were illegally riding in the bed of the truck. They suffered less serious injuries. Being all six passengers were ejected, its safe to say they were not wearing their safety belts. Their clothes and lots and lots of beer cans. It was a horrible mess, terrible tragedy. Reporter investigators dont know if alcohol was a factor in the crash or what caused the driver to lose control. The expressway was closed for five hours following the accident. So far, no charges have been filed. The fact the child weather even in a seat belt is absolutely violating the law, the safety of that child. Workers inside Atlantic City city hall got an unexpected early dismissal. A Water Line Break flooded parts of the bidding. Water was pouring oust elevators, ceilings and outlets. W abo a water main break that led to flooding in south philadelphia. Sky force 10 over the scene. Third street near oregon and shufrn shunk. One home reported flooding. No one had to leave their home. No word yet on when crews expect to have the water main repaired. Investigators trying to figure out what caused a business in camden to go up no flames. Workers at plastics manufacturing noticed high temperatures in an oven. They then saw a fire. A few propane tanks may have  exploded. A ceiling collapsed but no one was hurt. A new grand jury report. After more than a year of accusations of fraud and corruption. Controversy around possible wrongdoing inside the Bucks County Department of Human Resources. Doug shimell is in doylestown to break down what the grand jury found. Reporter bucks countys goechlt felt like it had gotten a black eye after all the allegations of mismanagement of hundreds of thousands of dollars. This investigation revealed a county department that has lost its way. Reporter when auditor rz found bucks countys Human Resources paid for benefits that families were not eligible for, they started a grand jury investigation. If you are looking for crime, you figure somebody is getting something in their back pocket or something theyre not entitled to. Reporter after a year, they found massive incompetence. The Department Managers and employees did not know their own rules. Regularly, misstated explicable laws. Reporter exspouses and Soldiers Left on after going to war. You cant be this bad at something and good at everything else. I hope it erases the black eye. Reporter commissioners hope taxpayers know they will fix the problem. More of a retraining and retrofitting what youve got or just get rid of it and start over . Probably a little bit of both in there. Reporter bucks countys Human Resources department had not commented on the original audit and would not talk about the grand jury report. I cant comment. Reporter the report didnt charge anybody. They recommend farming out the benefits function to somebody else because they say the Human Resources director and the employees didnt care about taxpayers. In doylestown, im doug shimell, nbc 10 news. Penndot shut down a bridge linking two counsels because of what it calls structural instability this afternoon. The greaterford bridge. Penndot says steel beemz wand ter deck are both cracked. They closed the bridge until further notice until they can figure out what caused it. Today we know more about a new plan to expand benefits in promise zone. West philadelphia is one of five areas in the country president Obamas Administration selected as a promise zone. It gives employment tax credits for businesses who hire from within the Community Among other tax incentives. U. S. Senator bob casey anoupgsed a bill that would put the plan into law. You are already doing it. You have done it for generations. Its about time that the federal government was much more of a full partner in helping you do what you do best. The bill would allow businesses to write off investments in their own infrastructure. Casey says he plans to present that legislation to Congress Next week. A melting ice cube. Thats what a bankruptcy lawyer is calling the revel casino hotel. Its back in Bankruptcy Court for the secretary time. They lost 75 million this year. They opened in april of 2012 after construction delays. It filed for bankruptcy less than a year later in february 2013. Today, round two in Bankruptcy Court. The casino could close august 18th if another buyer isnt found. How the possible loss of 3,100 jobs will impact that shore community. Matt . Reporter the judge toedz allowed the company to continue paying its workers while this bankruptcy process unfoemds. But unless a buyer is found for the revel resort, then the casino and its workers could be out of luck. It seems a lot of money being spent. I dont know. Reporter guest tell me they cant see how the newest resort on the boardwalk is loses 2 million a week. I went to the hearing this morning at federal Bankruptcy Court in camden. There a revel Attorney Says their goal right now is to sell this property for the highest and best price. Bear in mind, it is over 400 million in debt. People are playing. Im there. Everybody is on edge down here. Reporter this man has been working at casinos for 23 years and believes a closure of this magnitude would be nothing short of devastating to this area. They cut their work force by 18 since opening two years ago. Live in Atlantic City, nbc 10 news. Delawares three struggling casinos probably wont be getting as much of a bailout as they had hoped. There was a bill on the table to eliminate the annual 3 million table games fee paid by the casinos. Lawmakers have folded on that deal. The same bill offered financial breaks to the casinos at a cost of more than 20 million. An amended bill would keep a proposal intact that the state shares the costs. To bucks county where police are looking for the driver who left a man on the side of the road to die. Police found the 61yearold man lying on the shoulder of bristol pike. He has been identified as a man from philadelphia. They believe he was hit at 6 30 last night. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police. A Bank Robbery Suspect is in custody. This man is accused of seven bank robberies. His alleged spree started in 2009 and then stopped in 2011 as the robberies continued, he became increasingly vie leapt, often threatening customers. Even though the robberies stopped, they were able to identify him and get an arrest warrant. He turned himself in to police. Ful fill police are hoping video will lead them to the suspect who shot a man outside a bar in the long crest section. Nbc 10 on the scene just after 2 00 this morning. The victim, who is a cook at the bar, was leaving work when he was shot in the leg about five feet from the door of the establishment. He is expected to be okay. Fortunately, no one was hurt. You can see the damage there to what looks to appear to be a big plate glass window. It also is hard to tell from the pictures from sky force 10 whether the vehicle has been removed from the scene or its there at the bottom of your screen. This is a car that smashed into a home in Camden County. No one has been hurt here. Overseas, three u. S. Troops were killed in a roadside bomb blast in afghanistan. A dog was also killed. Nato hasnt provided any other details on this. Foreign forces have largely shifted to a training and advisory role in afghanistan. They still face danger from insurgents. Kevlar is used in protective equipment. A funeral is planned in wilmington for next week. A scare up in new york city when scaffolding becomes unhinged leaving two workers dangling. The scaffolding broke between the 12th and 13th floors of a 20story building. Police rescued the workers. They were shaken up but otherwise okay. Up dating our news out of cherry hill where a building collapsed earlier today killing one person around midday today. We have known the victim was a construction worker. Reporter Camden County officials tell us everyone has been accounted for. It appears no one is still buried under all of that rubble. It happened around 1 00 this afternoon at the old Blockbuster Video store on route 38. Crews were using heavy equipment to demolish that store to build a new supper wawa. Officials say one of the workers was killed as they were trying to take down the final wall. Reports said several were trapped in the rubble but we have since learned everyone has been accounted for. Advocates have been at the State Capitol for days pushing for the bill. It does not allow marijuana to be smoked it would be used in a vap riser and an oil base. Parents need a roej strags card and a doctors prescription. The pope added had is voice into the debate over legalizing recreational drugs. Speaking to a Drug Enforcement conference, he called drug addiction an evil and you cant compromise with evil. The methodist minister defrocked after officiating his sons samesex marriage is a peeling the decision. Frank schaefer is arguing the case before an appeals panel. Right now, there are boys who play on girls field hockey and volleyball teams because their schools dont offer a team for the boys. The only way a boy can still play on a girls team is if the school determines these several things. The male player doesnt keep a female from a spot on the team.
