Nbc10s matt delucia has a front row seat for all the action. Matt, the crews are going to be out there for much of the morning. Yeah, rosemary, were keeping a safe distance. You can see thats going on below me. You can see theyre down there, all the workers, pouring the concrete foundation. This is going to be ten feet thick and all that concrete is below that rebar that you see, that metal structure where all those workers are standing on right now. Righu all of this concrete trucks coming up here. Theyve got these arms with the pumps that are pushing that concrete down below those bars so that you can get that foundation. It will be solid. When its all said and done this will be about three inches above those bars. Its going to be complete slab of concrete. Im going to bring in mike right now. Hes the project manager overseeing whats going on with pietrini and sons. Mike, tell us whats going on right now. Basically youve got an operation that started around midnight. Weve got were going to be placing about 4,000 cubic yards, 400 truckloads of concrete in a continuous operation. Probably take us about 10, 11 hours to get it in. The mats ten foot thick. There will probably be be here until about 11 00 until we get it in this morning. Got a couple hours of cleanup and then we will have the streets open and be in good shape. Once this is all done, what will be the next step . Well, within a week after it were going to start forming and casting the elevator core sheer walls. Pretty much that will be just the walls that go all of the way up to the 59th floor. And its pretty much the structure that actually keeps the intreg grutity of the building. Is this the most important paft or the building right now . That base foundation is the key element to do, to get the elevator core started and thats like the first thing thats actually rising above the steel construction. So it has to get up first before everything follows behind it. All right, mike, thank you very much for your time. We know a lot of work is going don right now. And just to give you an idea, were right across the street from the
