as we go throughout the rest of the country here, we're looking at temperatures, minus 27 in portions of iowa, minus 4 in little rock. look at houston, 20 degrees is the wind child. ft. worth feeling like minus 6. they're not improving as we go throughout the afternoon. these temperatures are staying in place monday, tuesday, wednesday. chicago in the single digits by tuesday, in the teens by wednesday. memphis, below zero temperatures on tuesday, right at the freezing mark on wednesday. in atlanta temperatures in the 30s by tomorrow. as we go throughout the later part of the week, i mentioned that second arctic blast. really no relief in sight. chicago still in the single digits on thursday and friday. we are looking at rain, snow, also some icy mix in portions of the south central states. that's going to be tough, especially where we lose power. >> michelle grossman, so much to track there. up next on "ana cabrera reports," it's cold in iowa, but democrats are turning up the

bill belichick for over two decades of football college. a new college football champion will be named champions, the washington huskies and michigan are set to square off in the title game at 6:30 p.m. eastern. it should be a good one. time for the weather. let's go to michelle grossman. we had severe weather on the east coast over the weekend. any more on the horizon? >> we have wicked weather over the next couple of days. some will see some snow in the plains. the northeast it's going to be mainly a rain event, but it's going to be heavy, heavy rain. parts of northern new england could see snow. this is what it looks like on radar. you can see some snow falling. that's in the blue. even storms in the southern plains. we'll watch for storms in houston. i know they have a retractable roof. we could see strong storms if not severe storms. we also have to watch for nighttime tornadoes. that's going to be a big story as we go throughout the later part of this monday.

in the purse, maybe a -- or something to just take a quick snack when you are myths of a snowstorm. thanks kathy. all right michelle, so the kids and i have been tracking this snowstorm for quite some time now, we are planning on doing a strike mission on monday we get enough snow. and by that i mean going skiing for the day and skipping out on school, maybe, i don't know, i haven't told them yet. >> oh, fun. >> what is the plan, who is going to get hit the worst? >> all right well it's going to be new england, that is a good, plan i love that. we have it all out there, we have some rain, some really heavy rain in spots. we have snow falling, we have ice also, we're gonna see really tricky conditions in parts of the appalachians. and then on the tail end of, this we are look at some really heavy rain in south florida that's bringing the chance for small storms, and tornadoes. take a look at satellite radar, you can see it's a white straight, it's watching from the new england area all the way down to the southeast. on the west coast, you mentioned that storm, this actually a more powerful storm that's going to impact the country as we go throughout the next couple of days, and the northeast could see some big-time flooding by tuesday, so just keep that in the back

of your head as we go throughout the beginning of the week. but let's talk about the storm right now. because we are looking at 35 million people in the northeast impacted by this storm. we have winter storm warnings, that is in the pink, that includes boston, hartford, scranton -- down to portions of west virginia. we have winter weather advisories that is in the way. and we have kind of a mix. and we have the interior parts of new england, the interior parts of the northeast. we could see 6 to 12 instance of snow along the coastline. we want to see a little bit of snow, but then that rain is going to work in pretty quickly. this is what it looks like at a closer view. you can see where kathy was, she is not seeing the snow. it's going to take a little while to get there. once it gets, there's going to show up on radar first, but it's gonna take a little while to get to the ground. but you could see some really heavy rain, yasmin, falling throughout portions of the mid-atlantic. so this is what we are going to be watching for throughout the day. so again, i mentioned new england, that's where you want to be skiing. but you know what, we could see some rain there earlier, so most of it is going to be washed away as we go throughout the later parts into the early part of the work week. back to you. >> all right michelle grossman for, us thank you michelle, appreciate. straight ahead everybody,
