Any reports that point to one candidate are premature. Governor Chris Christie could still be trumps running mate. There are two other finalists, former House SpeakerNewt Gingrich and mike pence. Earlier, there was news circulating that pence was the pick. But trump has not yet made a final decision. Gingrich is expected to hear trumps pick this afternoon. Meanwhile, this morning, nbc news spoke to Chris Christie. The new jersey governors part of trumps transition team. Christie said getting the presumptive nominee elected makes priority over his Vice President ial ambitions. The product is the most important thing. Today Supreme CourtJustice Ruth Bader ginsberg is apologizing after her spat with donald trump. She issued a Statement Today calling comments she made about trump, quote, ill advised. Ginsberg admits junls should not comment on candidates running for public office. She slammed trump three times in the last week saying hes a faker who really has an ego, and has no consistency about him. Again, the justices words there. In response, trump has fired back saying her mind is shot. Hes also called on her to resign. Today Hillary Clinton went after donald trump saying he is running the most Divisive Campaign of our lifetime. The Presumptive Democratic nominee spoke to latino activists at the conference of the reeg league of the latin american citizens in washington. She said if elected, she will introduce a comprehensive Immigration Reform bill within her first 100 days in office. We are now less than one week away from the Republican National convention. Less than two weeks away from the Democratic National convention. And today National Security officials spoke about their concerns over possible violence during both events. Homeland security secretary jeh johnson testified before Congress Today about his concerns demonstrators could get out of hand at the rnc in cleveland next week. Hell be visiting the Convention Hall to make an inspection there, and make a similar to philadelphia next week. Cleveland Police Showed off the tools theyll be able to use to keep order at the rnc. The city was given 50,000 for security to use for bomb suits. The department has bombsniffing dogs, mounted police, truckloads of fencing will go up between now and saturday night when a security sweep will then take place. The Convention Begins on monday. Today engineers with the Transit Agency gave me an upclose look at the cracks that forced them to pull a third of their Regional Rail cars from service. Youve got the wheel axis going through. Reporter a flashlight and pointer, septa engineers tried to show off the oneinch problem in some spots thats causing major trouble for the Transit Agency. Septa has pulled 120 silverliner cars off the tracks, leaving thousands of Regional Rail riders with limited service, and fewer seats. All the dirt and paint off of it. To confirm. Reporter crews are using a red dye to penetrate and highlight the cracks. Samples from the broken parts have been sent to the lab to try to figure out why this is happening, and how to fix it, both in the short and long term. We put dye penetrant on this. Reporter ron hopkins tells me this demonstration is all about transparency for the public. With no solution yet, the waiting game for everyone continues. With the inspections, we need to build the confidence of the public that when we do return the cars to service, that theyre safe. Septa said it was an inspector who discovered the problem after first noticing a car leaning on the tracks in the maintenance yard of the 120 cars pulled, 115 of them have the cracks. Good for that inspector. A delaware mom is in jail accused of leaving her toddler in a hot car. State police say nicole ames of lewis left her son out in the car on saturday. He may have been in the hot car with the windows shut for more than an hour. Two people got him out. And they called 911. Troopers believe the mom may have been under the influence of a prescription drug. This afternoon, a New Castle County man is in custody in new york city waiting to be sent back to delaware on murder charges. Police arrested Gregory Parker yesterday, nearly seven months after investigators say he killed a man he knew. Parker used to play basketball overseas, and he also coached children. Now hes accused of beating sean spence to death inside the New Castle County home where parker lived. Police have not named a motive in this case. A jurys ruled in favor of nascar and Pocono Raceway in a case involving a deadly Lightning Strike in 2012. They report that the racetrack was negligent but did not cause harm to the victim. Brian zimmerman was killed in the parking lot outside the grandstands five minutes after a race was stopped in august of that year. American water works Company Plans to build the new Corporate Headquarters on the waterfront. Its planned for this fall. Construction is expected to be complete in the second half of 2018. American water works is the latest company to move to camden thanks to generous state tax subsidies. Atlantic city is delaying the deadline for bids on the site of the former bader field airport. They were supposed to be due today. The city council decided yesterday to postpone the auction deadline auction until august 4th. They hope selling the property will lower the citys debt so they can avoid a financial takeover by the state. All new Jersey School districts will test their drinking water. The state board of education passed new regulations on wednesday. Districts that have not tested for lead recently must do so within a year. And all districts must now test their water at least once every six years. Governor Chris Christie ordered these regulations after elevated lead levels were found in water in several districts. Today the Pennsylvania Health departments launching a new initiative to protect pregnant women from the zika virus. The department is handing out 2,500 zika prevention kits around the state. They contain insect repellant for skin and clothing, and has tablets to put in standing water outside to make sure it does not attract mosquitoes. The zika virus to those who are healthy is a very mild disease in most cases. But what were really concerned about is pregnant women. Other preventive measures that pregnant women can take includes staying in air conditioned rooms, wearing lightcolored loosefitting clothing that covers all exposed skin. Property owners in New Castle County wont be getting mosquito fines. They squashed the proposed legislation. It would have allowed 50 fines for owners that had stagnant pools of water on their land.
