Its purpose is to give you the latest updates on the developments concerning septas union strike. Septa today filed a lawsuit in the court of common pleas seeking an injunction to end the twu local 215 strikes asserting that it constitutes a clear and present danger to the health, safety and welfare of our riders and the citizens of philadelphia and the region. In the lawsuit, septa notes that the strike has caused people to miss critical medical appointments, its making it impossible for some disabled residents to get to facilities for Specialty Care and get assistance with fundamental life care matters, its causing students to miss schools and presents a risk to citizens right to vote in the november 8 election. Septa is asking the court for an injunction, ordering twu local 234 employees to return to work immediately to alleviate the devastation caused by the strike. Now we had hoped to have our general counsel here to explain the process and answer questions. Unfortunately, hes in court right now. My understanding is once it is filled, he will be assigned to a judge for a hear, and once that hear is set, we will present evidence and testimony to the court. It has been assigned to judge linda carpenter. The union has been served. And this is the latest that we have. For the sake of our ride er for the sake of our ride eiders employees and our took payeraxp have to get this done, too much is at stake. Youre just listening in to that News Conference, as we told you, the strike is causing people to, she was saying, students are missing school, people are missing crucial medical appointments and because of the upcoming election on tuesday, and theyre asking for a hear and the union has been served. Septa has been threatening to file this injunction for the past couple of stays. We have seen the impact to septa riders each and every day. Today a federal jury convicted two former allies of new Jersey Governor Chris Christie for their part in the socalled bridge gate scandal. Both Bridget Kelly and bill baroni were found guilty on all charges. Ea kelly and baroni are charged in the plot to use traffic jams to push a mayor who would not endorse christie in the 201233 election. I felt she was a scapegoat and i feel now she is ascape zbo goat. I am very, very looking forward to this appeal. We are gratified that the jury saw the evidence the same way that we did. The most serious charges carry up to 20 years in prison. But the United States attorney for new jersey says there is no way he would recommend that the pair serve that long. A statement by chris christie, those people were terminated by me and today the jury affirms that decision by also holding them responsible for their own conduct. Three students were stabbed at the university of rutgers. That campus was placed on lockdown. A suspect is in custody. Investigators say he stabbed himself as well. No word on what led to the killing spree. Two children were hurt in a fire in olney last night on sheldon street. First responders discovered the children ages 6 and 11 months on the second floor, immediately began cpr, the neighbor who called 911 tells us it looks like fire works shooting from the back of the house. People are still shaken by what they witnessed. She was lying just in the road right there on the side. Carry hayes saw the heart breaking scene moments after a woman was killed in a hit and run along busy route 40 in atlantic city. Its horrible. Its really, really horrible. Reporter the crash happened feet from the bay view inn and sweets, hayes was a guest there as was the victim. Police tweeted out a description of the suspect vehicle that did not stop, a black work style pickup with front end drivers side damage. I dont see how someone could leave someone laying in the street and not pull over or something. Today Governor Tom Wolf signed a bill that makes ride sharing legal in new york city.
