This morning, thornton and other former coworkers learned thalasinos was among the victims killed in yesterdays mass shooting in San Bernardino. Here we are little Cape May County, 98,000 people, and suddenly have one of our own out there in california now that is murdered by these terrorists. Reporter thalasinos worked for Cape May County for 13 years until he resigned in 2002 to take a similar job in california. He really worked hard, i can tell you, he made sure that the county of cape may was protected. Because of his love of god he had such a big heart and he loved everybody. Police say today they dont believe there were surveillance cameras in the room where the shootings happened in california but cell phone video from inside the building does show a Police Officer risking his life to make sure everyone made it out of the building safely. Ricardo santiago didnt speak one word, instead he hung his head as prosecutors painted him as a ruthless killer who they say strangled his exgirlfriend neidy ramirez. Neidy was murdered first. Ramirezs loved ones heart broken by the details cried openly in court, but then the devastation of what killed her infant daughter genesis, who suffered blunt force from a crushed chest. After the child had been essentially kneed in the chest, went into some type of convulsion. Reporter prosecutors say it was a swampy wildlife refuge where investigators recovered the baby inside a trash bag and neidys body nearby buried in leaves. The victims own car used to dump the body. And placed strategically on route 55. For the sole purpose of taking everybody off the track. Reporter neidys loved ones left the courthouse empty for words. No leniency on bail.
