Nbc 10s Tracy Davidson is also following all the action in cleveland and she has a look at the protests anticipated today and how one demonstration led to arrests yesterday. Reporter more arrests could come today as crowds outside the Convention Center plan for protests. Theres a parade planned. There is an evening rally planned, ahead of donald trump officially accepting his partys nomination. Now, a flag burning on the streets outside the Convention Center sparked the most turbulent protests yet, yesterday. 17 people were arrested. The Cleveland Police chief said the person who started burning the flag caught himself and others around him on fire, and thats why he was arrested, not for burning the flag. Officers moved in to put out the flames. Police say no pepper spray was used, but that an officer did use a fire extinguisher. Despite this incident, Delaware County sheriff, mary hopper, who is here, told me she is impressed with security. Theyre handling of the protesters, in my opinion, has been as professional as it gets. Theyre letting them have their say, but not to the point that its so disruptive that the people coming and going are uncomfortable. The security here is incredible. I mean, a mouse could not get into this building. Ive been very impressed. Theres a bunch of Pennsylvania Police here. Theres police, i believe, from as far afield as california here. Clinton plans to hold a rally on Independence Mall on friday, july 29th. Thats one day after shell formally accept the democratic partys nomination for president. The rally will be open to the public, but her Campaign Says if you want to attend, you have to sign up first. Right now, the Convention Host Committee is showing off seven locations that are participating in politicalfest. This is a live look right now from the pennsylvania Convention Center. Governor ed rendell there. Other locations include the National Constitution center and the Historical Society of pennsylvania. Each location will display exhibits about government and the political process. And you may see more congestion on the delaware Memorial Bridge when the dnc comes to town. Thats because Truck Drivers will be diverted to that bridge and other alternate routes starting saturday, the secret service will ban trucks weighing over five tons from traveling on i95, between i76 and 676 in philadelphia. Some are worried about the extra costs of taking delaware Memorial Bridge, because of the toll tolls. Well, the heat and humidity are making a comeback. We were in the 60s and 70s, but with sunshine, that is quickly changing. Already 84 degrees in philadelphia. Look at the low 80s, for the Lehigh Valley, the suburbs, delaware, and south jersey. We will warm into the 90s this afternoon, but the very low 90s, and the humidity will be coming down some during the day today, but it is going to be soaring over the next several days. This afternoon, upper 80s and low 90s in philadelphia. Bright sunshine for the suburbs. And up to 90 degrees in the Lehigh Valley for allentown and easton, new jersey. Low 90s for hamilton township. Looking for relief, youll find some at the shore, especially ocean city and cape may, and the delaware beaches all in the low 80s, while wilmington is up to 91 degrees this afternoon. We have serious heat on the way. In fact, a first alert has been issued for pennsylvania, new jersey, and delaware, friday through monday. The temperatures soaring. For a second day in a row, a Technology Glitch left passengers flying Southwest Airlines stranded. And with more than 200 Flights Canceled by midmorning nationwide, there was a lot of frustration felt by passengers who were stuck waiting and wondering when theyd fly out. The airline says most systems are back online now. But nbc 10s Pamela Osborne is live for us at Philadelphia International airport, where well over 100 passengers are still waiting to find out what happened next. Pam, what can you tell us . Reporter vai, you know, they canceled about eight flights that were departing out of philly international today. And the line of customers trying to get reseated on new flights was hours long. And so ive been waiting ever since. Reporter since 5 30 . Since 5 30. Reporter rhonda dewilt was hoping to be in tulsa right now. But she, like so many other southwest passengers flying out of philly international this morning, was stuck standing in line instead. Its a real pain in the neck. Reporter jeff says he and his family were blindsided by the sudden cancellation. When we got down here, everything was all on time. They said there was that the flight was canceled. Were like, what . Reporter the airline says the cancellations were a result of an outage in their technology systems. Where are you going . Reporter its the same issue that forced southwest to cancel 700 flights yesterday. Today . We just came here, we just saw this massive line, and we waited weve been here for probably about three hours now, waiting to find out whats going to happen next. Reporter theyre headed out west for a family vacation. Its frustrating, you know . Were looking to have a couple of nice days out in seattle and then were going to go on a cruise to alaska reporter theyre still hoping to make their cruise, but its proving to be a challenge with many flights already overbooked. And the rest some were just so overpriced, we wouldnt know if we would get reimbursed, you know, with what were going to do. Reporter and the airline has apologized to its customers. They say they are working as hard as they can to make sure their customers and their luggage get to exactly where they need to be. Southwest is advising all of its customers, people traveling on their airline, to take a look at their website to make sure everything is running on time. Well, vai, we are watching 95 right now. This is right around broad street. No big delays because of this, but an accident scene here. We have a penndot crew on the scene, trying to get this guy out of the way. But no delays. And watch for some rolling work crews out in that area as well. Out in franconia, an accident on long mill road and route road. And one of the other delays we have, our norristown train 211, running about 30minute delays for septa and all the rest of mass transit, pretty much running on time or close to schedule. The bridges are okay, but we do have construction over the ben franklin, headed westbound, so thats into philadelphia, where theres two right lanes closed, and into new jersey on the walt whitman, were dealing with one lane closed, the right lane closed there. The schuylkill expressway, for the most part, looks okay. Were dealing with typical volume right now, east and westbound, and into center city, usually more of a drive time here, 19 minutes from the blue route to the vine street expressway. Vai . Jessica, thank you. New controversy of another shooting by an unarmed man by police. Just ahead, what a florida man says he was doing when a Police Officer shot him thats sparking so much outrage. Plus, the road to rio is paved with more problems for some russian athletes. Could team russia be forced to skip the 2016 summer olympics . It would be nice to be able to skip the high heat thats coming our way, but not going to be possible. Today, well get a preview, as wilmington warms into the 90s this afternoon. The tenday on 10, just ahead. A man is in Critical Condition after a neighborhood fight in West Philadelphia leads to gunshots. Police tell us a fight broke out between two women near 45th and market around 11 00 last night. Over what, thats not exactly clear. But at one point, investigators tell us someone poured hot grease on another person, then a man comes into the house, points a gun in the face of one of the women, pulls the trigger. Now, the gun jams. So he runs out, gets the gun working again, and fires several shots into a back window, hitting a 21yearold man in the back. That 21yearold man is in the hospital, listed in Critical Condition. Police tell us the situation could have been much worse. Theres infants in there, young babies in there, kids under the age of 5, and multiple adults when the shots were fired through these rear windows. So seven shots through there. Were fortunate only one person got struck in this incident. People need to realize, when you fire these guns, there are consequences and there are serious injuries that can occur. Reporter Philadelphia Police are asking anyone with information to come forward. And police are trying to figure out why gunmen shot and killed a 22yearold man in the citys overbrook section. The victim was driving at wood crest avenue and north wanmaker street when he was shot just after midnight. He crashed into several parked cars and died at the scene. Officers found shells from two different guns at the scene, so they believe there were at least two shooters. And Philadelphia Police are investigating another deadly shooting in the citys fairhill section. They say a 22yearold man was shot several times in the head and chest around 1 30 this morning. He died at the hospital. So far, police have made no arrests. And a man is dead after police say he was hit by a car driven by a man whos been arrested for drunk driving. It happened just before 2 00 this morning in philadelphias nicetown neighborhood. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and police say they have a car and the driver. This morning, police are looking for the gunman who shot a 16yearold boy in north philadelphia. Investigators say the teenager was shot twice during a robber. The victim was visiting his girlfriend when someone robbed and shot him at ceci b. Moore avenue and woodstock street. Medics took him to st. Criticfers hospital and were working right now to learn his condition. New video appears to show a Police Officer shooting an unarmed man. This happened in miami. It shows Charles Kinsey lying on the ground with his hands in the air before being shot in the leg three times. Kinsey is a therapist and was with a patient who has autism. He says he was sitting in the street, trying to calm the patient who ran away from a group home. Authorities say officers were responding to a report of a man with a gun, who was threatening suicide. Kinsey said the alleged gun was a toy truck that his patient was playing with. No weapon was found. The officer was placed on administrative leave, as is standard procedure. The state attorney is now investigating this case. And happening today, the city of baton rouge, louisiana, will hold a public memorial for the three officers killed in sundays ambush. Federal, state, and local officials are expected to attend the nondenominational service. Officer Matthew Gerald will be laid to rest tomorrow. The funeral for Deputy Brad Garafola will happen on saturday. And on monday, officer Montrell Jackson will be laid to rest. Were counting down the days to the rio olympics.
