This morning from sky force 10. No word on that Truck Drivers condition. Nbc 10 first alert reporter Jessica Boyington has updates on how to get around the mess. Believe it or not, some of the delays are better with the morning rush pretty much out of the way. We were seeing massive delays on 95 earlier. Backed up toward the Philadelphia International airport. So expect that just in case you have a flight, head out now. Alternates, here is where it is. If youre tuning in, its 95 southbound. That ramp to the blue route northbound, blocked off still. You cant access the blue route from 95. Youll have to get off sooner. Get off at stewart. Thats a good idea for now. Slow approaching there. Once you get off at stewart, you can make a left at Westchester Pike to fairview. Then you can get back to the blue route that way and safely head northbound. Prepare for southbound delays because you can see some of the southbound traffic from the blue route as it merges into the traffic on 95. Its seeing serious slowdowns there, as well. Of course well have updates for you on social media on this. For now, give yourself extra time. Thanks. Philadelphia police have a man in custody and are looking to talk to two more who ran from an accident scene in center city. Authorities say the suv they were in slammed into another car at 13th and vine streets. Few people who were in the car that was hit are in the hospital in stable condition. Well look at the video. You see the accident. Then the video shows the driver of the suv getting out of the vehicle and running away. Officers caught him nearby. Hes expected to face several charges. We have new details about an accident in montgomery county. Hatfield Township Police investigating this crash along bethlehem pike. One car was on its roof when sky force 10 arrived on the scene last night. Three people are in the hospital this morning. Were working to find out their conditions. We have breaking news now on the main line. Police have arrested a radner township teacher. Nbc 10 has more where officials are holding a News Conference in the hour. What do we know . Reporter at this point, the details are scant. We can tell you that police have been working on this investigation for some time. It involves investigators from Delaware County as well as investigators in chester county. The sflvictim is a juvenile tha had been placed in a foster care facility here in radner township. Were told that teacher was arrested by police this morning. And radner officials have put out a statement saying that theyll be announcing more at 11 30. They want to put the information out because the assault happened on a juvenile student. It was a teacher from a local radner school. They did not identify the school, and the Police Department wants to make sure that this subject has been assaulted anyone else. This conference about to begin in a half hour. Philadelphia Police Looking for more suspects after they rescued a woman and captured one of her kidnappers in kensington. In this exclusive sky force 10 video, you see police arresting him. Two men grabbed the woman, forced her into the back seat of her car. Officers chased the car until the driver lost control in port richmond. Hi. Were looking at a pretty nice start to the day for the 1st day of february. The temperatures already this is warmer than we saw yesterday. 49 in northeast philly. Were at 47 in philadelphia. Not bad, wilmington at 48. 46 Atlantic City. And allentown even at 46 degrees. Yesterday we had a few flakes passing by the area. Were looking at warm air thats settled in. As a result, temperatures this afternoon will also be warmer than what we saw yesterday. Although it will be a shortlived warmup. Heres radar and satellite. Were going to stay mostly dry. We see the clouds that are over us. Partly cloudy to mostly cloudy conditions expected. And as we pull the radar out, you see theres still activity over parts of pennsylvania. If anything, we maybe will see clipping activity near the poconos. Otherwise, a dry forecast for us today with temperatures that will continue warming this afternoon. In fact, by our lunch hour, up to about 47 degrees. Dont be surprised if we see spots in the 50s this afternoon. And well start to drop off with clouds still hanging overhead into the evening, about 41 for philadelphia as we go into 8 00. Up to 30s as we drop tonight in the suburbs. 38 degrees, 8 00 p. M. In the lehigh valley, low to mid 40s through the afternoon. You saw in allentown were at 46 degrees. Spots are a little warmer than others when you track farther north. For delaware, the upper 40s, as well, this afternoon. Depends on where you are in delaware. Warmer north currently. In new jersey, were at 45 degrees. Were going to drop to 39 by 8 00 p. M. Not terribly cool. 8 00 p. M. Along the shore, in the low 40s. Today the warmup. Then we get that dose of Winter Weather for the next few days of february. A busy first 100 days for President Trump continues as his administration begins a push to get his new Supreme Court nominee confirmed. The president last night announced his pick of Appeals Court judge neil gorsuch to succeed the late antonin scalia. Judge gorsuch is on capitol hill meeting with Senate Majority leader Mitch Mcconnell and Vice President pence. Democrats are vowing to fight the conservative nominee. Reporter President Trump wants neil gorsuch on the u. S. Supreme court. If confirmed by the senate, he will succeed justice antonin scalia. I pledge that if im confirmed, i will do all my powers permit to be a faithful servant of the constitution and laws of this great country. Reporter gorsuch clerked for Supreme Court Justice Byron white and anthony kennedy. Judge gorsuch has outstanding legal skills, a brilliant mind, tremendous discipline, and has earned bipartisan support. Reporter as an Appeals Court judge appointed by president george w. Bush, he favors religious freedom in his rulings in important cases such as the hobby lobby ruling. He sided with employers who had religious objections to providing contraception to female workers. We want a mainstream reporter democrats plan to filibuster and try to block the nomination, a retaliation for republicans refusing to consider president obamas choice for the empty seat. This is a seat that was stolen from the former president obama thats never been done in u. S. History before. Lets give the man a chance. Talk to him. While President Trump is stopping Syrian Refugees from entering the united states, philadelphia families are welcoming them to their neighborhood. They shared dinner with Refugee Families at Reading Terminal market last night. A mother and son who fled the war zone in syria were there. After years of vetting, they arrived in philly over the summer. Now the rest of the family is stuck in limbo. Despite uncertainty, last night was a chance to bridge the divide. The refugees hope to reunite with family members when the president s executive order expires after 120 days. A jury in philadelphia will have to decide the damages in the Market Street collapse. Yesterday jurors in the civil trial found all six defendants liable in the 2013 collapse. Seven people died. 12 others were hurt when a wall crashed the Salvation Army thrift store at 22nd and market. Repairs to the nowclosed Delaware River bridge connecting the pennsylvania and new jersey turnpi turnpikes take a step forward. Crews expect to finish the work on one of eight towers that will jack up the bridge in preparation for permanent repairs. No timeline for when all the permanent repairs will be complete and drivers will be able to use the bridge again. Catholic schools week is underway. Nbc 10 was at the st. The finance committee changed the rules so they could go ahead and vote on a pair of nominations despite the democratic boycott. Republicans approved Steve Mnuchin to be treasury secretary and congressman tom price to be secretary of health and Human Services despite no democrats being present. Democrats had objected to the votes because they said both nominees had failed to provide complete information to the committee. Several other Senate Committees now are meeting on capitol hill to consider other nominees. The Senate Judiciary committee is meeting this morning to decide the nomination of jack sessions to be attorney general. Heres a live look. Vote was supposed to happen yesterday. It was pushed back until today. This is the second time the vote has been delayed. Sessions is expected to win approval in a partyline vote. The nomination is expected to be approved in the senate. The full senate plans to vote this afternoon on Rex Tillerson for secretary of state. Several democrats crossed party lines to back the former exxonmobil ceo. Another Senate Committee this morning considering the nomination of scott pruitt to be head of the Environmental Protection agency. Heres a live look at that meeting. Hes sued the epa in the past. Ben carson there, to the left, and an assistant to the president , amorosa, the former contestant. She complaining about an incorrect report that he removed a bust of dr. Martin luther king jr. From the oval office calling that report a disgrace. The new secretary of Defense James Mattis on his first overseas trip since taking over the pentagon. Mattis left joint base andrews in maryland this morning for a trip to south korea where he will meet with the National Defense minister and other south korean officials. He will head to japan for a meeting with government officials there. The widow of the orlando nightclub gunman is hoping to get out of jail today. Shes due in court for a bail hearing. She was arrested last month in california because prosecutors allege she knew her husband, omar mateen, had planned the mass shooting at the pulse nightclub. Her attorneys will argue for her release. Prosecutors want her extradited to florida. Looking at the radar and satellite, were seeing clouds across our region. Not really tracking a lot of moisture, though, to move through. You look just to the north of us. You see rain snow mix that may clip the poconos into the afternoon house floor. Further south there are rains, but none of that over our region. Instead, youll go outside to cloudy conditions and a very mild temperature. The philadelphia neighborhoods, many here at 46 now. At the airport, our official reading for philadelphia, 47. Thats up for center city, rittenhouse, graduate hospital, society hill at 48 degrees. And were seeing the same, 48 for fox chase. Torisdale, 50 degrees. We expect a lot of our philadelphia neighborhoods this afternoon to make it to around 50 for an official High Temperature. Now lets look at the new jersey temperatures. Theyre also right around the upper 40s. 47 in turnersville, voorheis at 47. Lumberton checking in at 47 degrees. A little cooler, robinsville, hopewell township, mid 40s. Certainly going to see upper effor40s into the afternoon. Weve got cloudy conditions now. We were talking about this yesterday. Mostly dry. We see here just the clouds, we go from 11 00 a. M. Through to 2 30 in the afternoon. Theres that rain snow mix that may pass through the poconos, just clipping the lehigh valley. Then we see light rain that tries to make it through sussex county. For most part, our region does stay dry. That all starts to move out. As we go into the evening, clouds start to thin a bit. It will be a more clear start to the day at 6 30 a. M. Through the next three day, as i mentioned a few minutes ago, well see a pickup today. We go right back down through the next couple. 50 today the high. 40 for your thursday. And by friday, were at 34. Average for this time of year is 41 in philly. Thursday will be a typical day. Colder than average by your friday. Were also going to be very cold in the mornings. Today were at 47 in the suburbs. As we go to friday, 20 to start. 32 is the High Temperature on your friday. The lehigh valley, the high friday, 29 degrees. Thats a big difference from the 47degree high were looking at today in in allentown. In new jersey, 49 for today. We see more sunshine mixing with the clouds on thursday. Into friday, 35 for the forecast high. The jersey shore, upper 40s, low 40s tomorrow. Then the upper 30s for your friday. And as we go through delaware, same deal. Up to about 51 for the High Temperature. Heres the ten day on 10. Today is the pickup. Tomorrow, a little windy. 40 degrees. Friday, down to 34. We stay cool for your weekend.
