The doors of the courthouse open around 7 30 this morning. Kathleen kane was convicted of master minding a leak of grand jury materials and lying about it under oath. Prosecutors are asking a judge to send cain straight to prison. But her attorneys will argue for probation and or house arrest. I did some digging this morning. One of her attorneys says she has close to 30 letters of support from family members, friends and former colleagues. Some of those people could testify on her behalf regarding her Public Service and socalled merciful acts. Kanes mother has written a judge and says a prison term could be devastating to kanes teenage son. Theres a possibility when she is departing the courthouse today, she could be led away in handcuffs. Only on 10 were hearing from an amputee who was tossed from his wheelchair while two robbers stole everything they could find in his tomorrow. Nbc 10s aundrea clinethomas spoke to the man after a Home Invasion in philadelphia yesterday. He asked that we not identify him. The intruders pushed thec vict out of his wheelchair, swiped his wallet, keys, cell phone, tv and even paper towels. He said he had a gun but i didnt see no gun. The robbers left through the back door of the house. The victim told us he had to crawl outside and wait for someone to pass by to get help. A Philadelphia Police officer is recovering after having to ditch his patrol bike to avoid being hit by a car. Police say he was on his bike on east russell street in kensington when a car came barreling at him. The bike was hit but the officer wasnt. The driver of car got up and ran. He was arrested. Hes charged with assaulting an officer. The officer was not seriously hurt. 4 33. 57 degrees outside. This morning, people are back in their homes after a gas leak in south philadelphia forced them to leave. Firefighters evacuated more than a dozen homes on christian street last night. Police said a worker in a basement of a home hit a gas line. Peco cut electricity while pdw crews worked on leak. One homeowner said he could smell the gas before the firefighters got there. There was a particular odor of gas very early on. Thats when they started to evacuate. The whole neighborhood was evacuated. American Airlines Says a couple showed up hours before their flight to boston, walked on to the plane and took their seats.
