This was 10 30 last night. Philadelphia police were called out to the home when officers got there and family members said the man inside was suicidal and threatening to use a knife. The man was in the kitchen and he had a knife pointed at his chest and he started stabbing himself. The officers told him to stop, he did not. Thats when taser came out. The man was rushed to the hospital, reportedly in stable condition. Police afterwards said they did everything they possibly could to stop this guy from harming himself. It seems that each time that he was hit with the taser prong, he actually became more agitated, more violent. It has a different effect on different individuals. Philadelphia police are investigating a smash and grab connection. Yes, officers say the same guys who ran into a window at boyds in center city also ripped off a macys store in the northeast. The connection is the getaway car, silver mercedes that police were looking for in the boyd robbery was spotted here yesterday at macys following a bold midday robbery. Philadelphia Police Say Three men ran into macys just before 2 30 p. M. Thursday. One of the men used a hammer to break a display case and then all three men began grabbing highend watches from that case. Police are still trying to determine how much merchandise was taken but they believe the thieves who wore masks, gloves and hood diz made off with anywhere from 10 to 20 watches, all of this happened while frightened customers looked on. I see three guys come with hoodies and they started smashing the counter where the jewelry was at. Everybody started panicking. Nobody knew what was going on they broke the class glass. It was like five minutes. Witnesses from the macys robbery were able to give police the license plate number of the getaway car. That is how police were able to make the connection to boyd. Take a look at this surveillance video. It shows the people inside that same car running in, stealing tens of thousands of dollars worth of merchandise there at boyds. Police are looking for a silver mercedes with the license plate, pennsylvania license plate of hva3741. It was last seen going south on roosevelt boulevard. Today, governor Chris Christie will mark that fourth anniversary with several events highlighting the rebuilding and the Recovery Efforts in communities across the state. One of the most iconic sandy skenes of destruction was this mangled roller coaster in seaside heights. Its gone now and the torn up boardwalk has been rebuilt. The storm tore apart homes and flooded neighborhoods up and down the jersey shore and inland. According to the fema website, federal agencies have provided close to 7 billion to new jersey applicants affected by sandy. c sandy also whipped up waves and caused damage along the Delaware Coastline. The storm impacted the Prime Hook National Wildlife Refuge in milton. The u. S. Interior secretary will join the governor and others to look at the restoration of that refuge which was paid for in part by nearly 40 million in federal funding. People are still recovering from Hurricane Sandy. The investigators explain why more than 170 home owners in new jersey say the state wants them to give some of their relief money back. 4 46. Disturbing videos of students fighting in a north Jersey High School have been taken off twitter. A warning, this video is tough to watch. It shows punching, kicking and hair pulling. Neptune Township Police say most of the videos were taken last year the School District in Monmouth County just found out about them. The district contacted twitter to take them off the internet. Police and School Officials say they will not tolerate violence. Mean mile, in the Lehigh Valley, two students are recovering from concussions after a fight in the School Cafeteria escalated to a back alley brawl. The fight started when one student threw something at another student aat dieruff high school. Two students are facing gun charges. Amtrak will pay hundreds of millions of dollars to settle claims from last years didly derailment in port richmond. A judge approved a 265 million sediment for the vicks of the crash and the families of those who died. Lawyers who negotiated the settlement said, amtrak will make the payments by next june. Amtrak took responsibility for the crash in which a speeding train derailed on a curve. There are still more than 100 cases pending in the disaster. The derailment killed eight people and injured more than 200 others. Federal investigators believe the engineer Brandon Bostian was distracted at the time. He2has not been charged. The Philadelphia District attorneys says it is still investigating and will move forward with the case if and when things develop. Dispelling myths about diabetes.
