A man is in Critical Condition after standing up for his son. Police tell us two men robbed that mans teenage son. So a few hours later, he went to Market Street to confront the men, and thats when they shot him in the face twice. Coming up at 6 00, well hear about the Evidence Police are gathering to track down the shooters. Developing now, philadelphia leaders are not backing down after a sanctuary city threat. Attorney general Jeff Sessions is now warning cities to stop harboring undocumented immigrants or face losing funding. Nbc10s matt delucia joins us live in center city. This could cost philadelphia millions of dollars, right . Reporter it certainly adds pressure to sanctuary cities to stop. The attorney general making that strong suggestion to the sanctuary cities yesterday. Policies cannot continue. They make our nation less safe by putting dangerous criminals back on the streets. The attorney general warned about financial consequences in the form of no federal grant money in the future and possible clawbacks of money already handed out. Its going to be closed for up to three weeks after the covered portion of the bridge was hit by a tractortrailer. You can see some of the damage to the overhead support beams there. Crews actually had to come in and deflate the tires so that they could lower, then remove the truck from where it became stuck. Neighbors who lived nearby say this is going to be a disaster. Youll see backed up all over the place. This is this is a major state road. So cherry hill will be a nightmare here. Reporter and among the people trying to find their way around this shortcut, police and ambulance workers who use this route to get to places quicker than they normally would. This morning, a shooter remains on the loose following a barricade situation in philadelphia where gunfire narrowly missed a woman. Sky force 10 showing s. W. A. T. Teams searching for the gunman in a building in Northern Liberties last night. Police briefly shut down parts of spring garden, i95 northbound, the septa train stop. Investigators tell us the suspect fired shots that traveled across traffic and into the parking lot of delilahs Gentlemens Club hitting the womans car. She was shaken up, scared. Shes lucky because those bullets missed her by inches. I noticed that 95 was closed. They were have they had everybody going over to the left to go to 95 south area. So then they had lights in the middle of the street. Police are looking at evidence and Surveillance Video for leads into their search for the shooter. Today in philadelphia, the lawyer for indicted District Attorney Seth Williams will be the subject of a hearing in federal court. The judge will decide on michael diamondsteins motion to withdraw as williams defense lawyer. Diamondstein doesnt think williams can afford to pay him. Williams pleaded not guilty to bribery and extortion charges. [ chants ] people were shouting for Seth Williams to resign yesterday morning. Members of black lives matter paraded in front of Williams Office in center city demanding that he step down now. Williams has said that he wont resign. Lawyers will debate the number of church Abuse Victims that should testify at lynns retrial. Lynn served nearly three years of a sixyear sentence for child endangerment. His conviction was thrown out because of trial errors. Prosecutors say the monsignor helped the archdiocese transfer problem priests. Today major restoration work will begin at mt. Carmel Jewish Cemetery in philadelphias wissinoming neighborhood. Vandals knocked over more than 100 headstones last month. A donation drive raised more than 200,000 for cleanup and repairs. And the restoration plan will include new fencing and new lighting for better security. Meantime, Philadelphia Police think Surveillance Video could help them catch the vandals who targeted a mayfair synagogue. It will be in the 40s to start with. Robinsville, princeton, hopewell township, warming into the low 60s. Some neighborhoods may not get to 60 degrees this afternoon. A cool and cloudy and kind of dreary start. At the bus stop at 8 00, 50 in exton. Theres a chance well see isolated thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy and occasional showers, more likely into the later morning hours. A few raindrops in Burlington County after storms rolled through overnight. The storms are pushing away from us. You see the next rounds coming from the west. That line of showers had thunderstorm activity. The thunderstorms have died down. The showers are holding together. So theyre on track for lancaster, berks, and Lehigh Valley first thing this morning. And then theres more wet weather to the southwest thats going to be coming in during the day. Some heavy downpours moving toward york right now. Theres a possibility well see occasional downpours this morning. This is going to move past us during the day today. And we clear out tonight, look at how nice and clear it is to the west. Thats our day tomorrow. Well finally get some sunshine in here. Today, occasional showers and a chance of some thunderstorms.
