Last year pennsylvanias Republican Party requested mcgintys emails for the six months she was governor tom wolfs chief of staff. The Office Released a fraction of some 15,000 emails. The state gop said many of the messages were irrelevant. The republicans filed a claim arguing the governors offices withheld emails to protect the candidate. The case will be held later today in harrisburg. Mcginty is running against pat toomey. And new information this morning in the bridgegate scandal in north jersey. Two former allies of governor Chris Christie plan to testify in their own defense in their criminal trial. Thats the word from attorneys for Bridget Kelly and bill baroni. Jury selection is under way in the case right now. Prosecutors claim the lanes near the George Washington bridge were shut down as an act of political revenge against the local democratic mayor who did not support the republican governor. Six School Districts from across the state, parent and Communities Group filed a lawsuit claiming the department of education failed to give School Children the resources this he need. Two of the parents in the case have children who attend philadelphia schools. Famili faculty members at pennsylvanias 14 state universities are calling for a strike. According to the union, more than 90 of its faculty members have voted to authorize a strike. The unions president says the strike remains a last resort and they wont set a date until after fridays negotiation session. Faculty members are upset over the use of temporary staff, salary cuts and medical costs. 6 06. 64 degrees. Tax trouble is brewing on the main line. Residents says the Lower Merion School district is hiking taxes when they already have millions. The judge ordered the School District to rework its spending plan and limit the amount of the tax hike. Morning, monique. Reporter the goal today, of course, is to make sure that no dreams are deferred. Ccp is hosting what its calling a fast track to enrollment for itt students. Recently four campuses in the philadelphia area of Itt Technical Institute, a forprofit College Chain suddenly closed. Weve learned the federal Education Department ban itt from enrolling new students receiving federal aid because Officials Say itt became a risk not only for taxpayers but students. In our area there are about 4,000 displaced students. Today theyre being invited to enroll in a tenweek term at ccp. We did some digging to find out what students can do if theyre in debt because of college loans. Theres something called the closed School Discharge in which they can get their existing loans wiped away and start over at another school. Reporter now win also found out through Reading Materials this morning that itt has set aside 90 million to cover forgiven loans. Thats according to the wall street journal. Ccp is encouraging students to come to the Spring Garden campus today to meet with counselors. All traffic moving into center city, we just found an accident scene in our cameras here. It is blocking off the righthand shoulder. One lane getting by on the schuylkill expressway right now. Thats moving toward the city. Thats one of our biggest times anyway right now. Right approaching the 6 30 or so hour where we start to see the big delays. A lot of Police Officers there on the scene as well. One lane moving by on the schuylkill, well start to see major delays behind that. On the westbound side, traffic is moving along. We dont see any real gaper delay yet. This may also have a truck involved. Well keep our eyes on it for you. Ill have some of the drive times when i come back. This accident scene is not as much of a big deal on 95 right now. Southbound, just around 420 and in between ridley park. This general area headed southbound. You can see mostly cloudy skies to start with in easton where the temperatures have dropped into the 50s for most locations. 50s in the Lehigh Valley, low 60s in the suburbs. And in delaware, south jersey mainly clear overnight is 54 degrees. Its 64 degrees in philadelphia. Right now, range of temperatures from mertztown 56 degrees. Clouds will clear out, well get a breeze coming out of the south today. That will make for a warmer day inland while at the shore, the sea breeze kicks in this afternoon. That will keep temperatures in the 70s today. So warm summer day is what well see with afternoon temperatures on a warming trend that will have us into the 90s tomorrow. Cold front comes through Late Wednesday and that drops the temperatures nicely and brings the humidity back down for thursday and friday. But this dry stretch of weather that weve seen lately for most of the month continues for most of the rest of the week through saturday. A minimal chance in reading of seeing some showers late on wednesday and not much chance for thursday, friday and saturday. Minimal chances for the shore and for philadelphia. Might see an isolated shower tomorrow night but otherwise dry into the weekend.
