And he served this city immaculately and he represented the best of our society. He represented our immigrant tradition. He represented our tradition of trying to make this place better for everyone and made the ultimate sacrifice. Reporter randolph was one of five children. He moved to new york more than a decade ago. He had been with the nypd for five years serving the entire time as a housing cop in Public Service area 5 in east harlem. He often spoke about the danger of his job. He would say you dont know how i face, you dont know what i have to go through. You dont know where i work. Where i work is fierce at 5. You dont know the people up there and how i got to stand up and make my money when the night come.
