Are in store for cool weather. Good morning. I am chris wragge. And i am mary calvi. We begin with a scare on campus. New information this morning on the lockdown in westchester. Last night, students told to stay inside while Police Searched for a possible armed man on campus. We are live with more this morning. Reporter good morning, chris and mary. Students will be able to go back to class. Those who live and work on campus will be able to get back to business this morning but its a far cry from what happened right here last night. During the heightened safety alert, students and staff were told to stay indoor as Police Searched the campus. They are undergoing a search for an alleged suspect who was armed and reportedly fled the campus. Reporter around 8 00 last night before the campus wide safety alert, video was shot by a person in the apartments. You can hear multiple people arguing and discussing whats unfolding in front of them. Hes got a gun on him. Get down. I dont have get down. Get down. Reporter shortly after hearing the conversation, you can see a man running away, no word if thats the person alleged to have a gun we have no reports of any shots fired on campus. Reporter College Officials say no one was injured. In their search, police set up check points at entrances and exits of the college. Every car was inspected. They did not find the person who was allegedly carrying the firearm. All the information that we have right now supports that the person fled the campus through the woods. Reporter the campus has been checked and cleared. Last night the administration assured students and faculty that the school is safe. We are anticipating a full start of classes, regular reporter and police have not found that person who was allegedly carrying a gun. Officials say there is no threat here on campus. Cbs 2 news. The latest Battleground Tracker poll has clinton leading sanders 53 to 43 , making an appearance on Staten Island, clinton tried to appeal to both parties out thing herself as a candidate who could Reach Across Party Lines to get things done. I will seek Common Ground but stand my ground. Thats the combination you want in an elected representative. Front, ted cruz is closing in on Donald Trumps delegate count after sweeping all 14 wyoming delegates at the states convention. Trump rallying on Staten Island isnt phased. Bernie sanders will visit Long Island City. And john kasich is upstate. Growing concerns about violent Homeless People after a times square worker is attacked on the job. Police say the 26yearold stabbed a times square Maintenance Worker in the neck with a pair of scissors yesterday morning on the corner of 47th and 8th avenue. The homeless man was then arrested in the violent robbery attempt. Regs say theyre concerned. Theres a lot of mentally ill here and they need help. I wouldnt say people need to be afraid but just be aware of your surroundings. The nypd is searching for another homeless man in a bloody murder on friday. Four officers discharged their weapons in yesterdays Fatal Police Shooting in queens. Police say plain clothed officer approached a man on 135th street as he stood outside holding an open bottle of alcohol. And investigators say the man started to flee despite commands to. So they say he reached for a gun commands to stop and they say he reached their gun and they fired. Someone lost a Family Member and its not cool. Family members have identified the man as a father of five visiting from maryland. New video of a wild fight outside a brooklyn restaurant. A group of men seen swinging bar stools during a brawl outside on myrtle avenue. Police say the group punched, kicked and stabbed a 26year old man. That man is now in Critical Condition at the hospital. Police say they are looking for now to the devastating earthquake in ecuador. The death toll now stands at 272 with more than 2500 others hurt.
