The farther south you get, the warmer it is. Were running in the mid 50s here from plymouth down to the cape. This is due to still a little bit of wind stirring. These are the current wind gusts. Were still gusting over 20 Miles Per Hour here on the cape. We have a lot more cloud cover down this way as well. The winds will stay with us today as High Pressure continues to be anchored to our north. So that a storm here to our south. In between, a little bit of wind but this wind is bringing in cloud cover. Notice throughout the Morning Hours right until lunchtime, not are patchy areas of drizzle here in southeastern massachusetts. The rest of us are dry. As we get into the afternoon, breaks of sunshine developing particularly north and west of the city of boston. Temperatures will slowly climb up. Looks like we have a little red slowing things down there as well. Overall 10minute ride braintree on up to that tunnel itself. Further south route 3 is a nice ride. Hanover to braintree. 9 okay. Canton towards braintree. 128 is a nice ride. 24, nine minutes from brockton up to that randolph stretch. Now up to the north youre looking pretty good. Overall no real big troubles on 95, 9, route 3 from New Hampshire. 128 it seflt a fine ride from lynnfield all the way down to the mass pike. Breaking overnight one person is dead after an overnight car crash in summer set. It happened on lay fayette street. Two utility poles were also taken down in that crash. Sera those high school rowers found themselves in very cold, very treacherous waters after a a turn for the worse. That fourman team ditched the boat as water started spilling in. Minutes later it happened again to a team of nine girls. A shift in wind direction created dangerous swells, taking the boat down. They went stern first. They just kept going down. Sera the girls were rescued. Three of them were treated for the textile river regatta was canceled halfway through. Some of the swells there were as much as fourfeet high. Entire towns in South Carolina are underwater, cars submerged, roads buckled. Today emergency workers will go door to door in columbia checking on people trapped by the rising waters. This mother and infant daughter were plucked from their home by a coast guard helicopter. Just one of the rescues carried out by coast guard and National Guard crews in South Carolina. The ship known as el faro disappeared near the bahamas on thursday while Hurricane Joaquin was raging. Taking on water. It had been headed to puerto rico from jacksonville, florida. Search crews found a life ring with the name of the ship on it. They also found shipping containers, but none of it proves that el faro went down. The company says joaquin was just a Tropical Storm at the time, and crew members are equipped to handle changing weather. Right now an investigation is underway after a deadly fire in athol. One man was killed when flames broke out at the Morton Meadows housing complex saturday night. The building is managed by the athol housing authority. The victims name hasnt been released. Several other people were burned out by the fire. Investigators are calling this fire in upton suspicious. Thats because the home that burned early sunday morning on main street was abandoned.
